(though I cannot compare to the mighty Georgi lol)
One week down today, and I’m sure as hell keeping my fingers crossed for that 4 wk VL marker – anything under 200,000 is gonna be going in the right direction

ALT 26splitdog wrote:The way I understand it, ‘Quantitative’ testing determines the actual number per ml of bloodborne virus. However, it is only accurate between 12 and 10,000,000. The ‘Qualitative’ testing is far more accurate, but can only determine present/not present. So you use quantitative to see how you’re doing until <12, then do qualitative to see if it goes all the way down to undetected. (zero). Dr. Freeman?
Hey splitdog, pretty much. Check out the Doctor's cheat sheet link for a summation
Monitoring
Now the patient has access to the medications here is what monitoring on treatment looks like:
Baseline FBC, Cr&E, LFTs, Hep C Viral Load with reasonable currency + AFP and liver ultrasound for those with cirrhosis (looking for HCC)
4/52 into treatment FBC, Cr&E, LFTs, Hep C Viral Load
Repeat Viral Load at 4/52 intervals if not zero at 4/52
EOT (End Of Treatment) exit bloodsHep C Viral Load can be quantitative (undetectable, <15, or 15-100,000,000) or qualitative (undetected/detected).

Well I habitually take 3000 mg/day, usually a couple of hours after the dac…but not from tomorrow lol
Hopefully it hasn’t done too much harm, as its only been one week. Fingers crossed
And I am a semi ‘recovering vegetarian’ lol so salmon could well be on the cards

And I hope the same for you, when the time comes for you to get started
Most of the time you can forget that you’re even on treatment – and if that isn’t a ringing endorsement, I don’t know what is Lol

ALT 26With you on that Pheonix, something definitive…but ditching it just in case seemed the wisest move.
What about omega? I hadn’t read anything that would contraindicate fish oil, for example (have been taking it daily as I usually do)
Apologies for my late showing here guys , dodgy net connection was playing up with the recent rain/monsoon lol inch:
Edit: Right, now I’m confused…two contradictory links for omega-3
(Although possibly the webmd link is concermed with all those substances taken together, I’m not sure)

ALT 26Hey everyone, been off here for a couple of days and tomorrow rolls around to a week on treatment – one down 11 to go!
Gotta say its been, well as uneventful as expected. Few sides apart from occasional liver twinges, a few headaches and a hint of nausea that never came to anything much. Monday was probably my best day so far, couple of times I actually had a hint of something which might be “a free-floating sense of wellbeing”, something so foreign to me usually that it made me stop and notice it lol
The speedy feeling you mentioned Paul – it turned up along with insomnia for a couple of night and one where I had restless legs the whole night (something I used to get many years ago, but remember it al too vividly lol) Not sure if its tx-related though, and my legs do have that slight ‘buzzing’ sometimes. The feeling of mental “clarity’ disappears sometimes (particularly with a headache) but its never disappeard
But all good – overall really not much to speak of. I’m sure that if the sides increase a bit it will be a dosage-related event, as the level builds up in my blood…still early days

ALT 26Seems not, fox (speaking tentatively)
Both sofosbuvir and ledipasvir are not metabolized by the cytochrome P450 system of enzymes but rather are substrates for p-glycoprotein.

ALT 26Hear you on that, Pheonix. And I just found out the supposedly 100% whey protein I’ve been taking, wasn’t inch: (soy lecithin, in very small type lol) Only found one brand today which promised NO soy, well fingers crossed.
Few other herbal/supplements too
