Interesting way to advertise your HepC meds! I included a pic of the feebay cat. Can anyone translate Russian, I think its in Russian but I could easily be wrong. Great way to get the word out!! I found out the link won’t stick, oh well never mind. But if you go to ebay and search
hepatitis c, or you can search the item number, ###########785

G1a dx’d in 1992, Biopsy F2 VL 8mill +. Tried tx with Interferon/Riba, back in 2008 didn’t last long it felt horribly ugly!! I stopped tx, after 5 weeks!!
Started tx 6/1/16 with Harvoni.

Hi Fretboard,

It is obvious that any eBay seller advertising Indian generic brands of Sofosbuvir for $40 per 28 tablet bottle is participating in an outright scam. While there could be some value in pointing out to new members that these things happen on the Internet and should be avoided, I don’t believe our assisting them to find the seller is in anyone’s best interests.

It’s not for only for $40, it also includes $380 for shipping for a total of $420 per bottle. I don’t think it’s a scam at all but I didn’t list it on here for somebody to buy it either.

Yeah, isn’t that something. I’m sure it’s just some random drop shipper trying to get a quick sale, or maybe like Gaj said, its a scam. I certainly didn’t think anyone would actually be ordering HepC drugs on ebay. And yes, you’re right. Nobody is supposed to be selling prescription drugs on ebay. After giving this thread much thought, I really don’t want to be responsible for somebody ordering through that seller. If you want, please feel free to remove the thread.

Rather than you posting links or ‘how to find’ information that could possibly be mistaken by someone as an endorsement, may I suggest that advertising that obviously upsets you and contravenes eBay rules may be more appropriately reported to eBay so they can take action.

Someone could post an ad on ebay about generic meds, and list the link to fixhepc. Make it an auction with a $1 million dollar minimum that is hidden and no one will win. But no one will bid anyway because they will read about fixhepc

Actually it don’t upset me at all. If it did I would report it. Feel free to remove the thread. It’s that simple and I’ve mentioned that before! I really don’t think anyone is stupid enough to bid on it, let alone buy it but even if they did, it wouldn’t be anyone’s business but the buyer’s, the seller’s and ebay.

In terms of disruptive guerilla advertising I do actually wonder about letting people bid on “Harvoni Holidays”

You are bidding on a Harvoni Holiday.

As we know Harvoni is outrageously expensive in the USA – $94,000 for 84 tablets – but it is only $900 in Egypt.

This auction includes:

Limousine rides to and from your nearest airport.

First class return flights to Egypt

2 nights accomodation in the Presidential Suite at the Cairo Hilton

Chauffeur driven travel to the pyramids and a private medical clinic where you can see a doctor who can prescribe Harvoni (please note that medication is not included and will cost $900)

On eBay you pay mostly with Paypal. Plus eBay will give you your money back if the product is not exactly what was advertised.

I love eBay, it’s where I got a couple of my jet guns.

crazy world we live in hey, facebook bans mention of generics and ebay allows the sale of supposed medications. The risks of this stuff are huge, you might be fine if it’s just a scam with sugar pills but it could be anything.

Hi Tricia,

I think that for many people the costs of these medications even as generics is high enough that being ripped off with sugar pills could in some cases consign that patient to living with HCV for the foreseeable future.

While eBay Policy doesn’t allow sale of medications there are always inventive people who will find ways around restrictions such as that: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/prescriptions.html

In my opinion this forum isn’t the appropriate place to provide links to such inventive people without verification as doing so runs the risk that someone, somewhere may misunderstand that as an endorsement, whether because they trust what we say or because the language translator they are using does not correctly interpret the nuances of what is being stated.

– 6 days trip to India at a 5* hotel, various trips to visiting places/museums, blood tests & medical examination and the medication for Hep. C, flight tickets, shopping sessions etc. The price is ~1/5 by compare with original Harvoni.

My view: it is still highly expensive, but ….. if people get the chance to visit India …. no comment

P.S. a short extract from the Wikipedia page about Harvoni:
In the United States, the average cost of treatment with Harvoni is over $90,000.[5] An increasing number of US patients are using drug tourism to countries like India to buy it for as little as 1% of the US cost.[6][7]

I got my first lot of meds via a Telehealth consultation and then a 100km odd drive to Sydney (I was down there on that day anyway) to pick up the meds at a pharmacy. The second 12 weeks by Telehealth consult and meds were posted to me.Worked out all under $3000.00.

Maybe I do live in the lucky country – it’s quite close to Tasmania..
