16 February 2021 at 6:51 am #30077Happy to report testing is underway in Niue.
The Director of Public Health, Grizelda Mokoia, seen here with Dr Eddie Akau’ola says they did a one hour awareness radio show last week and many people now have appointments to be tested. The news comes just as the World Hepatitis Alliance put our Global Health NZ story on the cover :
Story p 16 https://www.worldhepatitisalliance.org/hepvoice

29 July 2021 at 3:58 pm #30140That’s excellent news Hazel, great job by you, Dr James, and everyone at Global Health New Zealand! The people of Niue are lucky, they were all tested for viral Hepatitis for free. If only there were enough donations to test everyone in the world. Anyway, that’s one down, congratulations!

31 July 2021 at 4:01 am #30142Just a thought…what about all the poor, diagnosed Patients in USA or other western countries who don’t have access to treatment or are being denied by insurance carriers. They are still able to receive generics from India or Bangladesh to be cured. That would be a great return on investment if it’s possible. Even just to make them aware of the opportunity to reach out to Fix Hep C would be amazing. If people could be contacted and made aware of this opportunity, they would pay for it themselves, it is far cheaper than conventional treatment. That’s exactly how I was cured, denied by insurance, saved by FixHepC. You probably already thought of this, I just felt I had to say it. You guys are the best!
