Anyone feeling this? Been 2-3 weeks post tx

I'm not actually sure what liver discomfort feels like but I have a "burning" sensation on and off above and around my tummy and under (but I have had this for a long time so maybe that's what it is).....other than that feeling pretty good

Hi Tweakmax, I had the pain after EOT at exactly the same time as you are now. I cannot recall predominantly where the twinges were some right side some left side, they have gone. My SVR path is excellent so far, my LTFs have continued to drop. Re the twinges, I think it is fine...but I don't know your liver health and I am just another patient, I am around F0 I also do not know if it is anything to do with fibro score either! I have had the same bloated swollen discomfort in my liver area since pre tx, thru tx and now 9 weeks post tx. it's still there, although lately somewhat less. In my case I put it down to liver damage. i went into tx as F3 so obviously my liver has some healing to do.
Some other issues that are still bothering me, mostly gastro stuff, I think come from the same place.
I also believe, but I could be wrong, that healing isn't neccesarily a pleasant process. A broken arm, after being set still hurts even though it is healing. Burns, the same thing. etc etc.
I guess time will tell, but I am only now starting to feel "stable", 9 weeks after tx. I put that down to my liver battling to do it's job properly again...

Hi tweakmax, I had same as you after EOT. Definite pain in liver area rather than discomfort sometimes but fairly fleeting. I haven't noticed it for the past week or so and will be 4 weeks EOT on Monday. Think it's gone! I have heard it said it can be the healing process, and a few people have experienced it, I also remember seeing it mentioned on a uk site. Nothing to worry about I think, though we do worry at EOT!

Same here, plus still upset stomach and lots of gasses after meals. Dunno is it related to liver or it is just stomach upset from tx that need time to settle.

Yes headache and a bit nausea too

Its 11 weeks now and next week I go for the 12 weeks EOT bloods. The feeling is the same since last I posted in the thread. Need to take a pain killer to get that discomfort away. Sometimes the brain tells me its back but will see. Someone suggested milk and vitamin D

I am 5 + weeks EOT and have some indistinct feelings as well.

The first is some tiredness and the second is a sometimes pain in my right side where I would expect the bottom part of my liver resides.

Due to see my G.P. about follow up anyway and will ask about the pain.

Since treatment there is more energy and hence more heroic gym stuff - the tiredness at times seems to be a 'good tiredness' rather than just not wanting to get out of bed.

The pain is around and in a dirty great big scar from surgery which appears to have reddened and got angry looking after all the gym heroics. I think I have strained something?

I suppose the point I am trying to make, is that for me this virus will sometimes do your head in. And now hopefully it is dead and buried, it's ghosts will attempt to do the same.

Esp the part the fibroscan reading is the highest out of ten tries

For me now its nearly all the time since the last 4 days. Its from the right side just below the liver right till the back. Its not sharp just strong dull pain, more like a swelling. Feels like a sprain or muscle twist. Hoping it goes away. But it was gone on treatment but now back. Crap!

Hi I am sorry to hear you still feel discomfort in the liver after tx. I hope it goes away soon.
I heard that we are supposed to drink at least 64 ounces (two litters) of water/fluids a day to both keep hydrated and help the body flush toxins out. Are you all drinking lots of water? Wondering too what pain relief could be taken to alleviate the pain and discomfort. Besides the actual " healing process" some of you mentioned, what could possibly be the causes of pain after tx?
