Can hep c cause anxiety symptoms, migrating symptoms like knot travelling from abdomen to chest. Like feeling the pulse all over the body, buzzing feeling...I am not in any treatment. I have one year with many diffrent symptoms

Hi Enkel, I was diagnosed hcv only a few months ago but was infected probably almost 30 years ago.and have had anxiety problems for all of that time.also some depression.My viral load is 1368000,fairly high and ime f1/f2. Ime glad you asked this question as this has also been on my mind .Have you had your blood pressure checked ?Be good to hear if others have similar problems.

I too probably have Hep c 25 years since i was operated from appendecitis 7 years old. But only 3 years I know I have it. I have a theory that whoever has high viral load and good liver conditions and relatively low ALT, the virus may replicate in nervous tissue...

Interesting, my VL was 2,100000 / 2,500000 Alt 71 / 61
Latest bloods VL gone down to 900000 but Alt has gone up to 114 - highest it's ever been, VL lowest it's ever been.


Discomfort under center rib cage. Strange sensations. Yes, vibrations at times, think my mobile phone is on vibrate, but no missed calls. I also get a pulse, center bottom of ribs, like a mild palpitation.
So I guess the immune system is fighting the virus and kills some, then the liver struggles from the stress of it? Or something'?

Ps not sure how long I have had it, 38 years or 20 years.

When immune system attacks the virus it destroys the liver cells together with the virus. VL down ALT up

So when they say 'try to boost your immune system' , it is making your liver worse?

So boosting your immune system is better used as a preventative?

I'm with you, guys.
20 years of depression history, sleep problems, buzzing all night and drugging my feet all day. Not anymore tho. Sleep and mood has improved from the day one of the treatment. Tinnitus is still present.

I sometimes get a flutter around my liver area and feel like I've had a football tucked under my ribs for the last 20 years. It's day 3 of Sof/Dac and I'm up early, can't sleep. I have V/L of over 20,000000

The vast improvement in mood after the drugs kick in is the effect that has most taken me by surprise. And the positive outcome I probably appreciate the most.

What other symptoms did you have?

Crushing fatigue, the usual bloated/right side discomfort stuff, joint and muscle pain and tendon injuries that wouldn't repair and had become chronic, brain fog, apathy and depression I thought was related to suffering from PTSD. Plus some symptoms I only now realise I had because now I have something to compare them with. Especially overly frequent urination (accompanied by loin pain) and a digestive tract that I thought was functioning okay but now realise it wasn't.

I have maybe had the virus for 40 years. I have experienced extreme anxiety, depression, joint pain, also that buzzing, vibratory whole body sensation. I have raised a family, studied for a degree and worked during that time and I always think how my life may have been different without hep c.
