Why does ‘EDIT’ stay highlighted after post?

I’ve noticed recently that when I post the ‘EDIT button in right corner stays highlighted and the ‘Thank You’ button has disappeared long after I’ve posted. Why is this? I haven’t seen it on anyone else’s posts.
