Yes we are peas in a pod. Good luck to you. My gut feeling is that I have not progressed to F4 in the last 12 months. Would have to be unlucky. Still even the F4s have a 85 % chance of clearing it with only the 12 weeks. Jill

Hi Jill,

You ask hard questions. :)

I think if your current LFTs, etc. are good, you feel well and are looking after yourself then that sort of progression in that time frame would be unlikely, or as you say, unlucky. Mine did jump up but with very noticeable test and general health effects plus I was already deemed high risk.

Yes G thats the story, wish I had that updated fibroscan all the same. Do you know if its possible to order an extra 4 weeks. Might be hedging my bets , with a top up just in case. J

Hi Jill,

I'm not sure as I needed 24 so two times 12. I'm sure something could be worked out as there will be others who were in similar situations. Hopefully someone can post what they did so others can find out?

Hi just to update my treatment news. Because of my fibroscan being 12 months ago Ive decided to increase my treatment from 12 weeks to 24. Reason being is that I cant be completely sure of my fibrosis status. My feeling is that I would be unlikely to have reached F4. But that is only a feeling and not science. I would be so regretful if I got to the end of 12 wks and relapsed because I had underestimated my condition. Not exactly to plan, as I went into treatment as soon as the club started and I assumed a 12 month old fibroscan would be ok. Ive learnt alot on the forum here , which is why Iam changing my game plan. So for the record I will be 12 weeks on sof/led from Mesochem followed by 12 weeks of Twinvir. Hoping my second lot of 12 weeks will reach me soon enough to tag team with the last dose from mesochem. I have 23 day left to make it happen. Jill

Hi everyone ive been off the forum for a while but have been reading posts from time to time. As ive mentioned i have gone for extended treatment of 24 weeks. I have 35 days to go. Mostly sleep is the only side effect in that it has been hard to get to sleep. However I would like some advice please. My last 3 bowel movements have been jet black.....I have not eaten anything which would effect the colour. I drink a truck load of coffee, but that is normal for me, so in theory would not change the colour. At the momeny Iam feeling very uneasy. Is this medication related ? Could it be liver related. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Jill

Hi Jill,

You should get this checked out immediately.

If you have - black, very stinky poo that is like liquid tar this is from bleeding high up in your gut - either from an ulcer or varices. This needs to be looked at urgently.

Blood from low down is still red, but from higher up gets partly digested and goes black.

If on the other hand you started taking iron tablets this will also make your poo black (but not stinky).
YMMV

Can black poos also be due to too much iron?

Hey Poodle, wishing you all the best that everything goes well x

Hi just reporting back on the little internal bleeding problem. The problem has been resolved as the damage done was from taking aspro clear. Looks like iam sensitive to this. Not related to taking sof/led or liver bleed... carry on everyone business as usual. 4 weeks to go to complete my 6 month journey. Best wishes jill
