    The HARVONI website patient information states that you can take them with or with out food.
    I have had some people saying that it’s best to take them with out food.
    I’ve been taking my HARVONI for the past 23 weeks at 7am with breakfast.
    Also I took Ribavirin for 12 weeks.
    Can Ribavirin be taken with food ?

    Hi Michael,

    Ribavirin should be taken with food. I tried without when I wasn’t hungry on peg/riba treatment and became quite nauseous, after that I always made sure I ate something with it.

    Here you go, page three, half way down left column:

    Edit: as Paul points out below, the food should have some fat in it. I changed to full cream milk on my cereal and if the evening meal is fat free I have some cheese and biscuits with the riba.

    The clinic told me to take Riba with some fatty food so I opted for a slice of bread with peanut butter on it most times.

    Two time relapser.

    SVR 12 achieved 22/02/2017 The Bastard has been defeated :):):)

    @cronholm

    Goin on Harvoni with food for 11 weeks. taking pill on 19:45 (+/-15mins important to do this)in the middle of the dinner/main course(eat half plate, take pill and water, continue eating) and a glass water. with no problem/side effects at all. two times without any food or water i feel really bad(headache and so on). dont eat grapefruit(this big orange). I try with only sandwich and that is not enough to eat with pill.

    edit:
    This is my own experience taking Harv, and my doctors recommendation.

    Hi Cronholm
    I took harvoni for 8 weeks no side effects whatsoever and as the instructions said with or without food I took it in the morning with a couple of coffees from posts I’ve read on here everybody is different as regards side-effects
    I think if instructions say with or without food it is up to you to find out what suits you best good luck with treatment
