I was thinking, if we had one of those sort of pin maps, showing location of people who have bought medicine thru the club, no personal info, just a pin on a map from appx where they are from, it would be a cool visual.

You could have red pins for those who have procured their meds and then change those colors to blue pins when they go undetected.
It would be a nice visual aid maybe to show the progress of what Dr. Freeman, Greg and all have accomplished? I think if done, it shoujld be a combo map showing both the pins for people who accessed via Greg and those who accessed via the club, all on one map.

Maybe somebody with actual skills knows how to do something like that, I sure don’t, but I know I would enjoy looking at it and watching more and more pins get added and changing color as months went by.

Good Idea! Anything to start demonstrating numbers of success is good for convincing the more reluctant/anxious/conservative.

Do we have any volunteers that are familiar with the workings of Google maps? I’m pretty sure we can have multiple colors of pins with little pop-up boxes when you point to a pin. We can put specific info in the boxes. (No names, no specifics on location.)

We can put our info in this thread and our volunteer can add it to the map. Suggested relevant info would be:

    1) Genotype, Fibroscan, Viral load
    2) What drugs (Manufacturer, Brand Name and/or Generic Names)
    3) Where/How you got them, Treatment length and Cost
    4) Date Started, Outcome (i.e. Undetected 4 weeks or SVR 12, etc)

    And of course your location

    Anybody up for this?

I’ll give my info as an example:

    Washington State, USA
    1) 1a, F0/F1, 1.86 million
    2) Sof/Dac, Mesochem encapsulated by Kingswood Pharmacy
    3) Buyers Club, 12wks, ~US$1150
    4) Began Oct.18, 2015, UND 6wks

yep, something like that, i think it would be cool, put it on the page permanently or something so its easy f or people to see as soon as they log onto the site

Trying to work out how to pin Google Maps then save info on it, we may need to link the maps to this site first. I’ll do some more reading and see if I can’t work out how to do this. It will need someone with better IT smarts than me to implement though.

    cheers

Sounds good as long as we can maintain it? I suspect there may be a bit of work* in that and probably needs something like the Zeemaps Paul linked at the start which also starts to cost for larger databases and more capabilities.

Hopefully something can be done with Google or similar, or there are apps like this but they only track visits by members and visitors.

    * Happy to contribute to the maintenance but no setup skills.

Well, I suppose a reaallllll low tech way to do it, would be take a big paper map of the world, hang it on the wall, put the colored pins in it, and take a picture of it, and every so often update the pins with more pins as more people come on and different color pins as people go undetected…..crude, but might work if you could get the picture good enough….or maybe a real little map of the world with real little pins and then you take a close up picture and blow it up?
