Hi Everybody,
I would like to enhance my signature on this forum by adding a motto related to the HCV treatment and I would need some support / ideas.
The hints I have in mind for the moment are:
– let’s eradicate Hepatitis C from the face of Earth:
– Hepatitis C may be eradicated through mass distribution of DAA drugs:
– Branded and generic drugs are both efficiently defeating HCV;
– the high prices of the branded HCV drugs are brakes in eradicating HCV
– generic DAA drugs are the TURBO button in wipping out HCV
– Knowledge is power. Knowledge shared is power multiplied.I am struggling my head on how to pack all this in an easy to read and digest sentence, so if you can make some proposals or have some ideeas, I would be very glad if you could share it.
Many thanks in advance for your kind support,
Regards,
RHF

Patient rights, not patent rights
Greed is good, unless you’re a patient
But it’s hard to top Jonas Salk and “You can’t patent the sun” although you have to know what he’s talking about.

Thank-you Tim, Dr Debasis @ MonkMed & Dr Freeman @ Fix HepC12 July 2016 at 1:22 am #20836Hello Everybody,
many thanks to all of you for your involvement in this small exercise of creativity.
After having looked at all suggestions, this is the result. Not so much as motto, as I initially thought, rather a message which I hope will raise the interest of many:
“The worldwide mass treatment of HCV patients is the key for making the world free of Hepatitis C!
The cure exists as branded and generic medicines, both having the same power to eradicate HCV. While branded drugs have opened the way for treating hepatitis C, the affordable generic drugs boost the endeavors to wipe HCV from the face of Earth.
DECIDE for the much cheaper generic medicine, if the patent holder’s high price for the branded treatment raises barriers for you. It’s your right as patient to act and break free from HCV, not a patent right!
Don’t let you or those around you become an HCV statistic! Visit http://www.fixhepc.com to find out how and join our efforts to spread the news! “The work is still in progress and I am open to further improvements / ideas. Please feel free to make any comment, either here either via PM. (Also my grammar might suffer a little bit … feel also free to make any corrections you think are necessary)
Many thanks again,
Regards,
RHF

Hep C RNA NOT DETECTED”12 July 2016 at 9:47 am #20851Basically you are now talking pitch, not slogan.
Don’t become a Hepatitis C statistic. Get treated with affordable generic medication and rediscover what it feels like to be well again.
This is phrased in the classic “Problem statement, followed by solution statement”
What is missing is the call to action (CTA). Now you have the readers attention what do you want to do with it? This should be the last part – in essence a request to do something.
The CTA could be
Google for “generic hep c medication” to find the facts.
In some ways this is better than say “Visit http://fixhepc.com to find out more” because it draws the person in and presents them with a good range of options.
Don’t become a Hepatitis C statistic. Get treated with affordable generic medication and rediscover what it feels like to be well again. Google for “generic hep c medication” to find the facts.
3 sentences, each with a specific purpose. Short and to the point.
This basic formula
PROBLEM STATEMENT
SOLUTION STATEMENT (with benefits)
CALL TO ACTIONIs the standard recipe for a pitch. On the (with benefits) people want benefits, companies produce products with features. You sell benefits, not features.
To pad it out you could use power words like “Imagine” working it into a benefit statement
Imagine how good you will feel to be free of Hep C.
And you could add informational bits and raise questions such as:
Generic medications are identical copies of effective medicines, but carry a far lower price tag. In a world where half of all HIV patients take generics, why is it that not even 1% of the 180 million HCV patients worldwide been able to access the new miracle cures?
And nothing says you can’t have 2 calls to action. Shares on social media more or less double if you just flat out ask people to do it.
Sharing this post could save someone’s life so please help us spread the word and share this with your friends.
So the longer version might read:
Don’t become a Hepatitis C statistic. Get treated with affordable generic medication and rediscover what it feels like to be well again. Generic medications are identical copies of effective medicines, but carry a far lower price tag. In a world where half of all HIV patients take generics, why is it that less than 1% of the 180 million HCV patients worldwide been able to access the new miracle cures? 12 July 2016 at 10:47 am #20853Hello Dr. Freeman,
Thank you for this solution . It has a great sounding and should attract a lot of attention for HCV patients (and their relatives/friends).
Going further with this pitch, just for the sake of this exercise of creativity, I would think that the following pitch would be attractive for someone which does not work in the medical world nor is an HCV patient:
500.000 people unnecessarily die every year because of HCV. The cure exists as branded and generic medicines and the worldwide mass treatment of HCV patients is the key for making the world free of Hepatitis C! Generic medications are identical copies of effective medicines, but carry a far lower price tag. In a world where half of all HIV patients take generics, why is it that less than 1% of the 180 million HCV patients worldwide been able to access the new miracle cures? Imagine a world free of HCV and with millions of lives being saved. Google for “generic hep c medication” to find the facts. Sharing this post could save someone’s life, so please help spread the word and share this with your friends
P.S. I tried to add the message to my signature, but it seems there is a count character limit, as I cannot add the full text. So… I have to go now back to think on the slogan
Cheers,
RHF
