Hello
I’m starting a course of Hepcinat LP soon and I have a few questions about things I’m already taking for other issues
I checked http://www.hep-druginteractions.org/checker and got many answers, but I’d like to double check.
I’ve also read through the threads in this forum and gleaned much useful information.
Any comments on any of these? On line checker is either vague or has no comment.
Prescriptions:
Warfarin – Little choice unless I want to grow blood clots… need to keep taking. Doctor will monitor INR levels
Checker says it’s OK…
RA Calcium 600 + Vit D – should be OKSupplements:
https://www.apexenergetics.com/Liqua-D (K87) – Vitamin D 12000 IU/day – should be OK – levels monitored with blood test
Vitamin D3 (as cholecalciferol) 2000 IU
Other ingredients: MCT oil.Strengtia (K-61) – Probiotic 2 caps/day – might be OK – haven’t read of contraindications
Proprietary Probiotic Blend: 30 Billion CFU†
Saccharomyces boulardii
DDS-1 Lactobacillus acidophilus
Bacillus coagulans
Arabinogalactan 125 mghttp://www.pureencapsulations.com/
Homocysteine Factor – Folate/B12 4 caps/day – should be OK, helpful even.
folate (as Metafolin®, L-5-MTHF)800 mcg.
vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin)400 mcg.
pyridoxal 5′ phosphate (activated B6)75 mg.
trimethylglycine (anhydrous betaine)1,000 mg.
other ingredients: hypoallergenic plant fiber (cellulose), ascorbyl palmitate, vegetarian capsule (cellulose, water)http://www.lifeextension.com/vitamins-supplements/item01929/super-ubiquinol-coq10
Ubiquinol/C0Q10 1 cap day – should be OK
Ubiquinol (as Kaneka QH Ubiquinol®) 100 mg
Other ingredients: extra virgin olive oil, gelatin, glycerin, beeswax, purified water, sunflower lecithin, ascorbyl palmitate, caramel color.I’ve been taking a few other supplements with ingredients such as milk thistle which I plan on stopping.
What is a reasonable amount of time to wait for undesirable substances to clear before I start the DAA?
I’ve waited decades, I can wait another week or so before I start if I need to
Anything else I should be doing to help assure a successful treatment?
TIA
Claude

Rock forward after you find out!!
In good health to you.

Cured!7 August 2016 at 6:22 am #21922Hi Claudel
If you use the search tab on this site you may find the information that you are seeking. For example I entered B12 and found LondonGirl’s Post# 20131
A friend had a high spike in their Alt reading and had to be hospitalised, they weren’t 100% sure of the cause, but put it down to Spirulina. This friend is a medic in infectious diseases and works at a hospital, so I would agree with Gaj.
I believe VitB12 can help absorption and has been ok’d on treatment along with VitD, so I would be very cautious re anything else.
I agree with LG’s suggestion and I myself, only took B12 along with VitD, BP meds with sof/dac and withheld all other supplements. I stopped cholesterol meds 2- 3 weeks before tx. I hope this helps.

.forever grateful to fixhepc7 August 2016 at 8:16 am #21927Welcome Claudel,
Your medication looks fine particularly as your doctor will be monitoring on treatment.
The usual recommendation for supplements is to be cautious and stop using them during the short period of treatment with the possible exception of B12 and D3 if your levels of those are low. I would think stopping a week before treatment would be plenty of time. You will find some further reading on supplements in the below linked section of the site.

7 August 2016 at 4:29 pm #21935Thanks for the helpful replies.
I searched/read in this forum before I posted my questions…
I’ve stopped all meds/supplements besides the rat poison/blood thinner that I have to take, B12, D, C0Q10 & probiotics.
I should have my DAA in hand this week, gonna give two weeks to clear my system and then I’m going to kill the virus.
Thanks, all
CVL
