    I also had the Harvoni treatment and any side effects I had were very minor.
    I’m not a doctor but I’d say if you were to have any worrying side effects you’d get them in the first 1 to days.
    You won’t be far from home.
    I’d just go and enjoy myself

    Genotype 1a
    Diagnosed in 2004, had HCV for all my adult life. Until 2016!!!!
    Harvoni treatment, started 19 March 2016
    4 week results Bilirubin 12 down from 14 pre treatment,
    Gamma 25 down from 52, ALT 19 down from 63, AST 19 down from 47,
    VL <15 down from a lazy 6 million or so

    EOT Results
    Bilirubin 10, GGT 18, ALT 19, AST 21, VL UND

    12 Weeks post EOT
    Bilirubin 11, GGT 16, ALT 22, AST 20, VL UND
    Cured baby

    Well JF, looks like the votes are in and the tally points toward you going to Spain. :lol:
    I personally think LondonGirl cast the deciding vote. She’s wiser than her years ya know. :P
    She’s from the same area as you and makes some excellent suggestions to help alleviate some of your stress and fears over going after having started tx. You could also PM Dr. Freeman to see what he might have to say. He has a lot of experience I’m sure.
    Either way, as beaches encourages, just go and enjoy yourself. Don’t be like this guy … :lol: … and I’m not talking about the doctor.

    Thank you all for your advice.

    Unfortunately, I have had a small unexpected setback.

    My HCV consultant called on Friday to say that my base bloods (Creatinine Level) was too high. I need to have more bloods done to double check.

    I have been taking HIV meds for ten years and the consultant is concerned that that medication is affecting my kidney function. She advised not to start until we are sure my kidney function is good as the addition of Harvoni could strain my kidney function further. This may even involve switching HIV meds.

    It could also be a false alarm – I’ve had a few of those before.

    Anyhow, I will hold off on starting until we have cleared this up.

    I’ll keep you updated.
