9/23/16 SVR24 ALT=11 AST=227 August 2016 at 11:47 pm #21937I want to be a part of this trial. I can’t get the medication to cure my hep c bra cause I don’t have thousands of dollars and my insurance won’t pay for it until there is liver damage, but I am extremely sick and have a low viral load (which doubles every other month) it is now over 10,000 and rising. I just want this to be over and to not have liver damage (if I don’t already). I can sleep for days and sometimes do, I hate it! The pain is extreme and debilitating. I have 3 children to take care of and at times it is impossible. I took being healthy for granted, you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. Please help! My gene type is 1a or 1b.

Hi Candice. So sorry to hear that HCV is affecting your life in such a dramatic way. Many of us here can relate very well, and have been in your shoes.
You can find information on the REDEMPTION Trials here: http://fixhepc.com/redemption-imagine-freedom-from-hepatitis-c
I can’t tell you how to proceed, but will tell you what I did.
1) I got my lab results together and made an appointment with GP2U Telehealth: https://gp2u.com.au/
2) I made an appointment with monkmed.com, and got signed up for the REDEMPTION Trial.
3) I paid for my medication ($1,600 altogether), and received my medication by US mail from India less than 3 weeks later.
Tuesday will be my 9th week of treatment with MYHEP LIVR (Sofosbuvir 400mg/Ledispavir 90mg). In the first six weeks my viral load has gone from over five million, to non-quantifiable.
Welcome to the forum
Fitz
16 September 2016 at 10:47 pm #23040Hi you all, I am new here.
First, Congratulations for all the shared info and the help to all the people worldwide.
Second, I live in Venezuela, maybe as you already know, at this moment we have a big shortages in any kind of medicines and the government agencies programs that brings treatment for HVC at very low cost is delivering (when is available, not now) interferon and ribavirin.
With that picture, this site is my life saving, so far, I read that monkmed/redemption trials do not ship the treatment to Venezuela. So, Can I request that the meds to be shiped to USA to a friend of mine? Then it’s more easy to get the meds because I could arrange a travel to US or my friend (or her family) could bring the meds to me in a visit travel to the country.
Thank you for your kindly help.
17 September 2016 at 4:07 am #23046Hi argemor,
Looking at the current situation in Venezuela it does appear that it may be difficult to directly import medicines but I can’t speak for Monkmed/Redemption ability to ship there. The best way to seek answers would be to directly contact FixHepC via email at help@fixhepc.com explaining where you are and your situation and you can also ask about the possibility and legality of shipping to a friend in another country. They deal with these sort of questions about various countries import regulations all the time and will recommend the best course of action for you.
Best wishes for a successful treatment.

1 October 2016 at 3:17 am #23394Dr. Freeman,
Are patients still being accepted in the Redemption 2, 3 and 4 trails? I am trying to sign up a family member residing in Romania and I am hoping she can be accepted and have a chance at leading a healthy life.
Thank you
Sincerely,
Alina
