I am only 2 weeks into generic Sof/Dac. I am a small but healthy person; I only weigh 53kg/115lbs. If sides become an issue as tx goes on, would the experts recommend cutting back dosage to alleviate sides?

Does anyone know where Kingswood Pharmacy in AUS gets the Sof/Dac.?

And does anyone know what Sof/Dac is doing in the body other than interrupting the replication of virus? Why/how do people get headaches or other malaise?

Hi Mt. Goat: As you may know, I got my sof and dac at Kingswood, they encapsulated it themselves from API’s. At the time I just figured they got the API’s from Mesochem, but another forum member on here at one point said he thought (back then in November) they might have had API”s from another source. I’ve never worried about it because it worked great, at 4 weeks I was clear and the way I felt I’ll bet I might even have been UND at 2 or 3 weeks. I can’t really advise as to sides, because I just haven’t really had any. I don’t consider myself “yuuuuuuuuugggggge” at 175 lbs, but still, that’s bigger than you i guess. You should be fine, I swear I have had much more noticeable effects just from taking some run of the mill antibiotics than I felt from this medicine. I never even got a headache–just some insomnia and weird dreams and that’s gone now post 12 weeks and end of taking the medicine.

GT 2b; since 80’s, no prior tx, sofosbuvir and daclatasvir compounded from API’s at Kingswood Pharmacy in Sydney, started tx nov 6,2015, undetected at 4 wks, UND at 8 weeks, UND at 1 week after EOT, UND at 4 weeks after EOT and UND at 8 weeks after EOT. I feel GOOD!! I knew that I WOULD!””

I to got my sof/dac from Kingswood and wondered the same thing, if they were still getting the API’s from Mesochem since it didn’t say anywhere on the paperwork. But I agree with 2b, don’t really care where they came from as long as they are working. And I do believe that they are, because my energy and attitude is so much better since starting tx. I to am about the same size as you MG, at about 53kg. Not having any sides to really complain about. I actually think I have less headaches and am sleeping a little better since starting tx. Will be getting my 4 week labs this Saturday hoping for the best

Hey MtGoat, my sof/dac is from kingswood too. I don’t imagine you’ll have too much trouble with sx. Have you had any issues yet? I’m just over 60kg and haven’t had any noticeable sx. Had a large v/l of 9 million which went undetected somewhere between 4 and 6 weeks.

Thanks 2b CC2b & Jaz. Well, I was having a few sides but increased water intake seems to have fixed them. I read some posts about generics that kind of alarmed me but, I’ve decided I trust Kingswood & Dr.James more than I would Gilead anyway. I also read some posts about sx starting weeks into tx and some people cutting back on dosage. So, that’s why I was asking about those things in “experts corner”. Great to see you all having good results!
