Why does 'EDIT' stay highlighted after post?

I’ve noticed recently that when I post the ‘EDIT button in right corner stays highlighted and the ‘Thank You’ button has disappeared long after I’ve posted. Why is this? I haven’t seen it on anyone else’s posts.

That is my fault! They took them away from everyone because I kept Thanking myself and Editing other people’s posts.

GAJ is a funny Guy …. What he’s telling you is that you only get the edit button on your own posts, and it’s always there for you … while you don’t get to thank yourself for your posts and that button is never there for you.
