Mesochem makes API powders. They Make Sofosbuvir and they make Ledipasvir. These are the two APIs in Harvoni.

Bit pricey V. One could travel to India or Bangladesh (probably in business class) and pick up a combo treatment for less than that. But it’s another option, and that’s good.

I would suggest that your acquaintance’s specialist is the one who needs to do some learning. All the best new evidence suggests that, for F3/F4 patients, Ribavirin is yesterday’s medicine:

Great news for both of you Irma and Neilo. This type of news never gets old.

Here is what I posted wrt Interferon/Riba in reply to someone on killthedragon:

“If you have joint pains now, nothing can prepare you for the body pain you will get on Interferon a few weeks in from starting, and the Riba will make sure you stay awake at night to ‘enjoy’ the pain 24/7. You will start lying down (not sleeping) downstairs at night because getting up the stairs is pure torture. If your bathroom is upstairs…..well, I won’t go into that. And I was the healthiest hepper in the world when I started on that filth.

My pal wasn’t in too bad shape when he started 48 weeks Inerferon/Riba, suffered but stayed positive throughout. Treatment failed and he was quite ill (as was I, but less so, when I stopped after 12 weeks). He just got more and more sick after that and died about a year later. Never saw his fiftieth birthday. Great big bear of a guy. Stong as a bear too.”

Just hope he doesn’t catch hepc. :( I believe it’s rife inside.

I’m sure he’d be disgusted by the price of the meds, and the difficulty obtaining them. He certainly wouldn’t consider generics. Goes against his whole ethos.

Just to clarify Tariq, are those prices shipped, or is shipping extra?

Hi Jeanmarc, and welcome to the forum.

My viral load tests are done at a major testing lab in London (The Doctors Lab). If I have my blood drawn on a Tuesday at my clinic in Manchester, they have the result on Friday the same week. So, three days is a perfectly reasonable timescale for this test. The longer times that get quoted are to do with this particular test only being done one or two times a week in many labs, and the logistics with the physical blood sample, and maybe posting the results rather than emailing them.

Joint pain so bad I couldn’t walk for example. Really don’t want those to get worse.
