I’m guessing you’re already there is HK home?
My eldest daughter was on scholarship at HK Polytechnic Uni last Semester she loved her six months there.
A wonderful place to live I worked there in 1983 myself! Bet it’s a lot different now.

    Ty Sir
Well that’s a LOT more compo than my friend received
I don’t have any issues with anyone getting compensation either it’s appropriate
I’m not exactly sure where you are at there as I am in Oz but I do know about delays from friends
The article was suggested this would happen yes?
I also am F0 and before tx had an extremely low VL the highest reading I have was before interferon and it was 420,000
I have also been verbally told here that my wait would be long even now with the roll out on Govt Health, the PBS, yes verbal advice and yes from a liver clinic and yes within the past week
I may be shot down in flames for saying this on a forum but like you I had exactly that said and more to me
Hence my relief that I could afford these meds from FixHepC that have given me my UND at Day 40 testing. Only a month to go I am expecting an SVR
Do keep us in the loop how things are going over there
Rest assured people here are wondering too how Australia will triage all 230,000 patients now the approval nod has been given
As I said I don’t know myself but it would be interesting to see exactly who receives tx this year and if there are triage priorities in place.
In any event the hospitals and any doctor prepared to prescribe will be very busy!
    Looking forward to your update
    Cheers

My personality type aims for BKTE
    Be Kind To Everyone
It isn’t on the briggs myer test but I do my best ;)
We used to do this test on PD days as an “ice breaker” working in the Education sector here
Jungian theory is fun taken with a splash of good humour
As undergrads we were drilled on many theorists, Skinner, Freud, the usual suspects
Possibly the most useful tools once at the coalface were those that helped identify goals of people’s behaviour and what could be pushing them.

Pretty sure my Briggs Myer score would have changed a lot over the past thirty years since undergrad and then those random PD activities too. Wonder how we would all score before tx and after clearing and getting SVR ?

Sirenchenge, compensation was low in Oz
I was infected by medical procedure in a third world country so get no compo but a close friend was infected during major surgery here in Oz in the early 80’s and received a pittance
It’s an illness that the wider population are still learning about for sure. I personally don’t care how people are infected but I do care about treating people like you do. My ideal world would eradicate this illness
It is possible of course given this miracle of science
I’m just stoked to have my generics after all I have been through its been a crash course in learning many things

I have heard about the triage situation in Ireland
Also about compensation for infected by blood product or surgery
I have two people who are sick there in Ireland in my circle of friends from over thirty years. Both moved there from Oz.
Because I love them as friends I follow this issue a bit and I know they’re waiting still.
The Irish papers have reported on it from time to time
    http://www.irishtimes.com/news/health/irish-patients-dying-while-waiting-for-hepatitis-c-drugs-1.2190036
I guess this is what Sir is referring to.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Australia’s promised roll out manifests with similar frustrations but I also am no doctor and although not infected via IVDU I was also not infected in a hospital in my home country. Triage is going to be very interesting to watch here.
I too have knowledge given verbally by the nurse at my local trials and liver clinic and by two physicians in my network but I can’t provide today’s actual triage patient treatment success to treat from the recent March 1 “hepC cure for all infected Australians” by PBS
I hope that all countries are about curing all people but I am very glad to be on FixHepC meds and UND
Let us know if you get a reply anyway Sirechenge
I am a letter writer and I have lobbied in Oz for some three years because of my own terrible experience prior and a failed duty of care in my case. I lobbied on behalf of all infected
I agree access should be for all, no discrimination
The smartest plan is to eradicate the illness so all should be treated
These verbal conversations you report are hot topic here in Oz I find too.
    Cheers

I have found out officially by highly sensitive audiologist testing that I have to wear a hearing aid because of the interferon robbing my hearing particularly the left ear, the device is just under $5000 AUS my right ear will need it too, but the left is an urgent. ….( on Friday I finally faced the music pun intended) , yes and I am a professional classical cellist who has done her fair share of other genres in studio, so now I am going to bombard you with my misery.
In the kindest way of course, me being a hippie type and all…so here is my favourite cello quartet doing some METALLICA.

PARDON? I DIDNT HEAR YOU SPEAK UP WILL YOU ;)

Love it Tina..my fave was ‘Save a Prayer’.. ha the ‘New Romantic” era… frilly shirts, pirate belts, punk shoes, boy makeup, Spandau Ballet, haircut 100, Aztec Camera….that one hit wonder A flock Of Seagulls oh gosh! And no, not any of this with the fantastic mastery of Bowie, but hell there was something going on that held us mesmerized, I think this deserves some completely ridiculous ANT MUSIC <img style=illy:' />

    Hi Ariel,

Just caught up with this. Do you have direct links to details for those of us who don’t FB.
Too late to sign current petition I guess? but would still like to know what the go is. Thx.

Here is the link, no not too late to sign, all Aussies sign away. My bestie surf mermaid buddy is a path nurse and this going to be a nuisance. She explained to me the issues she sees, and of course we all see the big picture, less people going in for path etc means less diagnosis of all sorts of things, more hospitals groaning with patients, more lives being cost…just not a good situation. I think that the elderly, single parents, and may I as a mum of two of these… tertiary students are sorely affected here, it is hard enough for them to afford doc visits and they do need to be extra vigilant with health check after all we were all young once…who can remember ;) I have real concern that the younger gen will avoid testing just because of finances…
I get the budget agenda here, but why not just adjust the tax threshold of the medicare levy rather than do this dodgy stuff? Oh well politics aside….

I think exercise empowers the mind
Forcing yourself into it builds strength of character and the body responds
My body is damaged but not my liver
If I feel slack and the chronic fatigue is vile I have become good at kicking myself in the butt
You don’t know my story and it’s not pleasant so please don’t judge hastily
I’m trying to encourage people to give exercise a go it is so important for mental and physical health combined xxxx

    Very romantic scene Mike,
T’was daunting to share my local environment for this lil duckie on a forum, but Gaj led the way, I recognised his location he is just a stones throw from me, which was a lovely realisation on such a global forum who’d have thunk it!
I have never been to America only Hawaii. Those hills of yours sure are purdy
It’s just Autumn here but no coloured leaves our gum trees don’t do a colour show. Agree with Tina beautiful trees,
    Cheers, Ariel
