RPA in Sydney Australia will as well. My impression of them is they care about the patients.

Thank you, Warrior for your very interesting post.
I am guessing the cost of the drugs in India would be out of reach of many people – is that right?

    Oh dear.
    Hard cardio.
    Problematic for back issues.
    But doable.
    Exercise bike.
    Yuck.
If that’s the biggest of my problems I’m doing ok.

How was your treatment experience? How is it for people in India generally? Very interested to learn.

    Hi Doctor James
I know. I work for a big bank after all. (Which bank? Not that one, but go one down)
    So many injustices.

What makes it worse is those obscene profits only really benefit a small “gentlemen’s” club (and the occasional token”lady”.
Not about the shareholder or customer at all.

    Meanwhile people are dying.

Kudos to you for being the change you want to see in the world. #flower

    Hi Paul and fellow posters

I’m G1a and waiting on SVR12 (hopefully). Here goes

Everyone is different and we have to find what works for us once we get rid of the gift that keeps on giving (and WE ALL WILL!!!)

I worry about the strict protein diet on many levels, the first being ethics.

I wonder how sustainable a high protein, low carb diet is for our bodies in the long term.

A few years ago I joined a personal training gym and adopted their way of eating, did weights and lots of hard cardio (this was post diagnosis – I’d started getting acupuncture and it made me feel well enough to be able to consider this). Getting fit made me feel very good but I noticed my cholesterol levels went up a bit. I lost lots of fat and put on some muscle and looked pretty good. I thought I’d killed the fat kid that lives in my body. :)
    But no :(
I think that way of eating is unsustainable on many levels – the impact it has on the planet, our bodies and our wallets, not to mention the animals who suffer in brutal conditions and die horribly to put food on our plates.

I don’t know the answer to the food question or the exercise question.

But I do know that if you don’t use it you lose it and it’s important to find some activity we enjoy be it walking, swimming, Yoga, lawn bowls or whatever.

I am fortunate in that I have activities that I love and are good for me but unfortunately they aren’t enough to keep the weight off at a level I would like. (Can’t do impact cardio any more due to low back injury). The fact that I don’t have a fatty liver (well, no one has mentioned it) is more good luck than good management.

    Hi Peach
I almost certainly contracted HCV in 1975(I got Hep B then) but wasn’t diagnosed until 2004.
My partner at the time never got Hep B.
My husband does not have HCV, nor do our children (born in 1990 and 1993)
    We unknowingly took risks.
We used the same nail clippers very regularly ;)

    With respect to ROHCVF,
There’s no value in comparing countries what treatment in one has government funding but not in the other.
I get that in your eyes 10% is a big number and from the perspective of someone living in a country whose government doesn’t fund treatment it is, but I think it’s not enough here. Lots of GPs (general practitioners) aren’t prescribing and they could be. People in Australia can get treated for a little over $100.00 but many are not.
Very short sighted because treating someone with end stage love disease costs much, much more

Only 10% of people with HepC in Australia have started treatment. Is this an expected statistic?

Also, are people accessing generics being counted in these stats?

HelenTyrell’s comment about people experiencing stigma from the health sector is very upsetting
