Hi Dr J I am pretty sure I have the same batch as Chester from India and compassionate Daclatasvir so going on her responding
and the previous despair experienced from failed treatments, is the reason for this decision. I probably will do it sometime, curiosity always wins out. 28 days into tx. kindly

Hi Emilio I have decided I don’t want to know my VL until the end of treatment – 24 weeks. But about 6 months ago it was roughly 2.5 million. From what I have read there is no point really because it takes months for the medicine to fully penetrate cirrhotics. kindly

Hi regarding the economic perspective for rationing tx, I was wondering how they come up with the milligrams to be taken. Eg 400mg of Sofosbuvir . Is it that this mg is the minimum needed to eliminate the virus or it is no more efficient taking more or is it that its the amount where one has the least side effects and can eliminate the virus? kindly

I think this is Dr James department. He would definitively know what the dr set up is. Maybe have to lobby all dr boards to leave it up to the dr. whether or not they write a prescriptions, gastros and hep specialist included.
Anyway Dr James can write the prescriptions.

Hi I don’t understand how sth australian doctors are barred since health services is national. Then doctors in all states would be barred. Perhaps its doctors working in hospitals have been directed not to write prescriptions. GP’s are paid by medicare. Medicare would refuse to pay services that involved writing prescriptions for overseas purchases.

Yes, as long as tpg doesn’t change the rules for personal medicine.

I am a bit dubious about this Indian Ribavirin. I am going to write to the manufacturer to get assurance that its 100%. I have taken ribavirin before and accidently took 1 tablet too much -1200mg in total and I was violently sick for 10 hours. I am taking 1200mg and no effect.
I am under 75 kilos so 1000mg should be enough for me. So I am suspicious. kindly

Hi I am a 3a non responder with stage 4 -fibro 23. I got the virus in the 70’s. Also I got the ribavirin with the Indian generics. I am the thinking the riba doesn’t go well with interferon. Try it, the worst thing that can happen is that you stop it. kindly

I take sofsobvuir+daclatasvir+1000mg of Ribavirin so far no side effects. No loss of appetite or nausea, headache or fatigue. Just some sleeping issues but I just take a sleeping pill if I have to do something important the next day. I will be on this stuff for 24 weeks. whatever it takes to get rid of this virus. good luck
