Great News Joan. :) I too wondered should I have continued the ‘wait’ BUT NO! Like You taking my health into my hands has been far more empowering than more ‘waiting around’.

WOW! That really is fantastic news. I can see why my Specialist kept telling me to ‘wait’ until my appointment in April. Nevertheless, I can’t help but feel skeptical too, I know the news article says it will be ‘available to everyone no matter their condition’, I still suspect it could only be handled by triaging in the public clinics. So, that is certainly great news for the sickest – my brother has cirrhosis – so hoping he gets access and monitoring with his clinic in NSW.

I’m still happy I’ll be starting tx soon. :)

Yes Sonix i’ve just spent $1739 this past week for consult, Path and Meds – not begrudging it at all! My Health can’t have a price tag, just having this opportunity means so much to me. I’m truly grateful.

I was reading the news article on Egypt’s deal with Gilead and a 52 yo man, now cured, said,’I felt like I was dying and now I feel like I’m 35 again …..’ It brought tears to my eyes because I’m 52 and shouldn’t feel as bad as I do. So, I’m looking forward to how I’ll feel on my 53rd next April!
Not complaining about $$ at all, just surprised!

Thanks Alsdad for that article it was very interesting and I went onto read another on the site re the deal Gilead has done with Egypt. I didn’t know Egypt has the highest rate of HCV infection because of their multiple use of the same syringes to vaccinate kids decades ago and similar practices now, including family members sharing toothbrushes. I’m always horrified to hear of people borrowing someone’s toothbrush <img style=ick:' />

They are particularly controlling with this ‘experiment’ because they don’t want people in middle to high income countries to access the drugs

Not all Psychopaths become serial killers – many become the CEO’s/CFO’s of big corps; as well as Politicians and High Ranking officials – because their lack of empathy and compassion makes them successful at what they do! That is how they sleep at night and the rest of us can’t imagine how they live with themselves.

Great to read here how well you guys are going. I have a question regarding my brother – we both have had HCV G3a for 34 yrs – BUT he has cirrhosis and I don’t. He’s in another State, so it gets hard trying to get info off him, he’s too ‘brain-fogged’ a lot of the time and can’t remember his results. He had a Fibroscan within the past 2 yrs, don’t know score just that it confirmed cirrhosis.
He’s been waiting to get back into his Public Liver Clinic but appointment isn’t until May 2016, last visit May 2015 – Specialist told him to ‘wait’ for new DAA’s. His GP is desperate to help him but can’t get him in sooner.
Since I did the GP2U consult with Dr Freeman last week, my bro is now asking me if he can go that way too.
    Those here with G3a – F4 – that means cirrhosis doesn’t it?
Did anyone go via Dr Freeman? Can someone be ‘too advanced’ to be able to have tx?

    Any advice?

Oh, so now I see that was what Dr James was referring to in my appointment last week. I’m G3a, F0-F1, he’s prescribed the Sof/Dac but said instead of the usual 12 weeks I should do 16 weeks because the SVR4 had higher rate of success in recent research.

    Thanks for that article.

It’s great to hear from you Henry. Sounds like your results are great less than a month in. I already have CRAZY dreams so hoping that doesn’t get worse

Certainly agree with you about suddenly seeing a future before you that you never planned or expected. I would never have thought I would get this opportunity, I didn’t believe the ‘just wait’ routine from the Specialist over the past few years was going to deliver. Also, learning that a lot of other ‘conditions’ I have may in fact be from the virus and therefore they will clear too. I would just love to wake up not in extraordinary pain and feeling like I’ve been run over in my sleep – so sick of starting my days like that :pinch:

Hope things continue on the upside for you Henry :)

Wow Joy that’s fantastic! Good for you being on the homestretch now 20 days to go!

Having all those symptoms for so long it would be great if it ends up being Hep-related. Oh, especially those hot flushes/chills I get.

    :) :)
