Um, Plastic Bertrand is Belgian not French.
Everyone always gets it wrong. Just sayin’. Must be really annoying for poor Plastic…..err Mr Bertrand……whatever.
Okie dokie, Skip. I can see I’m just gonna have to set the novelty song dial to warp factor 9 then.

Verily, the song from whence my screen name cometh.

Sigh.
Vale David Bowie.
I can see this thread and the Q&A sub forum when not logged in. The only sub forums that aren’t visible are Pharmas Market and Media & News.
One thing that might be a good idea is to make those forums visible but not accessible without registering as I’ve seen done on other forums. Otherwise, people who don’t register may fail to realise that they even exist.
Ooooh, I like it when they see the results and get “all enthused”. Right response.
There is no such thing as failure.
There is only low aim.
Props for being your own messiah and saving yourself. Wishing you all the best, Ariel.
Ah so starting to point the finger even more at the riba. I’ll be really interested to know if the pains stop after you finish with Ribavirin. Let us know. I doubt you have any reason for concern though I know it’s unsettling when the liver pain returns. At least you can be assured it’s not a unique situation so I think keep calm and carry on unless something happens to raise more serious concerns.
I had liver pain at around the 2 week mark of 12 weeks of Sof/dac/riba (geno 1b, F3/4) then it went away as did the feeling of fullness under the rib cage. This seems to be a very commonly reported symptom on Tx as Paul said.
But then it came back in the last week of treatment which freaked me out. As you’re on led not dac, if it’s to do with the drugs then it’s either Sof or riba. You don’t say if you’re already on the Ribavirin or are doing it in the last 12 weeks. Of course, it may not be the drugs at all just the liver getting on with the healing process. Remember, if you comply with treatment you can’t go backwards so don’t worry that things are suddenly turning bad.
Anyway, my pains disappeared within 24 hours of me completing Tx and haven’t returned. I tended to think it was the riba because the last 2 weeks of Tx were the only time I did it tough. Having said that, I wasn’t even remotely anemic at the end. My hb was actually slighter higher than at the 2 week mark. Go figure. I’d be interested to know if you’re already taking Ribavirin because my hunch remains that it may have something to do with that.
It’d be good if we don’t shoot the messenger. Hopefully, we haven’t already.
Well, in terms of people currently on this site, I think it will be a cold day in hell before any of us feel other than utter and complete loathing for Gilead.
I can tell you that in none of the Australian media I’ve seen has Gilead even been mentioned let alone held up as benevolent Big Pharma. I really can’t see that playing well in this country. It’s all been about whether the government should be given credit or if it’s just political spin. Personally, at the end of the day I don’t really care. “Heaven” to use the doc’s analogy would have been to tell Gilead to take a jump we’re going with generics for everybody. But that was never going to happen. It’s not like the hep c drugs are the only patents they own. They’re too powerful and we’re too small. Your government is the only one who could fight that battle and have any chance of winning.
What did people want our government to do?
I think we have to look at this as an opportunity. As I said previously, this changes the zeitgeist. We can use this to change it more widely. People need to start saying to their governments “Hey why aren’t you offering treatment to everybody like them! Why have you agreed to the outrageous demands of these drug companies!” What’s more, because the deal covers all the drugs it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Maybe not as much a bed of roses for Gilead as you might think. Should we spend health dollars on genotype testing when we could just skip it and use Dac?
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. This appears to be a bit sweeter than lemons. More like oranges.
Let’s make orange juice.
Christmas twice in one day even better!
What are you saying Kevin? That our government shouldn’t offer treatment to everybody because that will kill off our interest in getting them to people overseas? ‘Cause that’s kinda what it sounds like mate.
We never had to help anybody but ourselves to the generics in the first place you know. But we did anyway.
(And if I just reported Chapel’s post to a mod it was a big finger accident. Sorry.)
