Great article Hazel.
“UK activist group, Global Justice Now, estimates somebody dies of hepatitis C every 79 seconds; the same time it takes Gilead to make $US26,068 selling Sofosbuvir”.
Hi 2bornot2b,
I’m travelling at the moment so I am just catching up on everyone’s news. So so happy for you 2b. I know it was tough at times but you pushed through and what a great result. Your posts and willingness to be open about the challenges will also help others who might be facing something similar. Fabulous.
That was quick jenrn! Great result with more to come.

Hi InfinityDreams and Welcome. Thanks for posting….each success story helps someone who may be needing a little extra reassurance before they take the jump.
You will have done some hard yards with the interferon treatment so I’m really happy that your story has a happy ending.
Looking forward to hearing about your SVR12.
Gotta love the internet. Good luck with that Guinness RSF (nothing quite like a Guinness on tap).

The joy of seeing people clear this virus never wears off.Hi Lilyfield – Love your dead parrot comment and congratulations on your SVR12.
I sent my story off to Dr James last week and have attached a copy if it helps you and others.
I tried to keep it personal rather than broad comments as I think that’s what people want to see when they are deciding whether to take that first step. The main thing is that we spread the word so that our fellow HepCers know that there are treatment options available to them.Hi Gaj,
It’s a docx document. Do I need to convert it to something like PDF?
Hi Dr James, Gaj, Anybody?
I thought I would attach my story that I sent to you as it may help people as an outline (obviously they don’t need to bang on as much as I did!). I’ve tried uploading the word document but it disappears with my post. I didn’t think I was that bad with technology but clearly adding or inserting the word document isn’t working for me. Any hints?

Good luck with the blood test results. I had Sof/Dac as part of my treatment regime. I was G1a and a slow responder so I had a bit of a mixture. There is something for everyone with the newest treatments. I am coming up to my 24 week blood test (after the end of treatment) which will confirm that I am cured. The treatments work and it will for you.
It sure can be a lonely path with this virus and the treatment. You have found the right place for companions who understand what you are going through and will keep you company through this.
Hi 2b,
Thought I’d say hello and see how you are travelling?? I hope the side effects continued to ease with the adjusted dose?
Feeling the energy come back and the brain fog lift is amazing. Keep taking those magic little pills.Coral
Hi Jenrn and Welcome,
Well done taking control of your treatment. Everyone is different and some people do start to feel their energy returning early in their treatment. I could also feel when things started to lift. I totally agree with Hazel’s analogy that it was like having an enormous weight lifted off of my shoulders. One of the things that I have noticed the most is the clarity around thought and decision making after living in a brain fog. Very energising!
I also developed headaches if I didn’t drink enough water but the side effects are usually minimal and it looks as if you are travelling pretty well so far.
