Wow – what a speedy response DAC! That is such good news and your early commitment to getting the right medication has paid off big time.
Your medication now becomes routine knowing that you are on the right path.Coral
SVR12 Pat!!!!! You fought and won. Well done!!
I caught up with this morning and have been reading through all of your responses since the first post by Dr James. Through you all I have had a quick ride through all of the emotions: shock, anger, sadness, observations, more anger, acceptance? (not likely!), options, technical talk, ways forward. I used to be a bureaucrat in a past life so tried to work through the logical reasons for the TGAs decision but realised that I don’t think so much like a bureaucrat anymore.
I have had a lot of firsts since reading that first article about generic HepC treatment in the SMH last year. My first consultation with a doctor using Skype (in Tassie no less!) the first time I have ordered medication from overseas, my first Hep C treatment, my first post on this forum when I shared my status with people other than close family and friends, the first time I realised what an exceptional forum this is, my first blood test in years that had a Hep C undetected result and the first time I realised how much better I feel.
The first time I realised that Dr James is not only an exceptional doctor but an exceptional human being. I’m still in awe of his bravery, compassion and capacity for what must be an enormous workload. Underpinning all of these posts is the absolute commitment to supporting and protecting Dr James and his team. It’s not often you can say that someone literally gave you your life back.
I’m still reading through the reasons and legalities of the TGA decision and it may take me a while to work through the techo stuff but there are too many compassionate and driven people on this site for it not to continue.
26 May 2016 at 7:58 am in reply to: GT2 Honks About Generic Sofosbuvir +Daclatasvir (SOF + DCV) #17800Hi GT. I’ve been relocating to another state with intermittent wifi so I seem to catch up with posts in batches now. Great to see everything is going so well. I loved your cartoon (well the words anyway). I felt as if I was reverting to the Village Idiot at times with the brain fog. I had a very stressful job/career which I loved but in the end it got a little sabotaged by the virus. I imagine that in big and small ways it has impacted on our lives for good and bad.
Having said that it made me take a break and make changes that are turning out for the better anyway. I love having a clear head and energy again. Ready to take up another position in the Village.
Ariel – best of luck with your next tests. It sounds as if you are doing really well and if your positivity and truly joyful vibes can get you across the line you’ll have no problem at all.
Thanks everyone for the ocean photographs. Walking the beach with my dog has been probably the most therapeutic thing I have done throughout all of this.

Hi Rowan – so good to hear that another one has crossed the line. I also did it in my own time but never doubted that I would get there. Best of luck to your partner in getting to UND. What great support she will be able to get from you.
Hi Tina – I can see that the great songs, dancing bananas and even a rocking Star Trek Crew have been covered so from me a simple heartfelt congratulations. I can’t believe how much better I feel (or how bad I felt in retrospect) so I’m so happy that this is shared by you and so many others. Great to be able to say – I know how you feel!

Hi LG – yes – we both did a marathon rather than a sprint but we got to the finish line. Looking forward to sharing the SVR run with you

Great to see those good results. It sounds like you are doing everything right and reaping the rewards. Looking forward to seeing your next lot of results. Keep well. Coral
Wow! Thanks for posting. What a great little video for promoting low cost medication and the broader message.
13 May 2016 at 9:29 am in reply to: GT2 Honks About Generic Sofosbuvir +Daclatasvir (SOF + DCV) #17093I had no problem with coffee GT2 but you could compile a book with everyone’s different and shared experiences. The main thing is that everyone comes out the other end UND in their own time and way. It could be a coincidence or your body could be saying no to strong coffee at the moment (somewhat sadly). I agree with re_roll that moderation is the key along with good nutrition, exercise and a sense of humour (which you clearly have).

I loved your post nearly as much as I love our very own Lone Ranger and Tonto. Good luck with the results of your service tomorrow. Wishing you a smooth ride.

Congratulations Gaj, I’ve really enjoyed your posts. I got to EOT at the end of April and am also feeling a bit strange without my evening tablets. After 24 weeks they had become part of the daily ritual (apart from the times I got settled into bed and had to get up again because I’d forgotten to take them). Good luck with the next bit.
Congratulations 24 times Irma. I’m catching up on so much good news on this site today.
