Yep, Ariel’s got the lingo alright…. “Hot Dawg’, is right. If I didn’t know better, I’d think she was a southern girl

For all my friends and family here who have lost loved ones:
Ha! I KNEW it Sven!!!
You’re on your way to SVR, brother! Waahoo!!!!
Hmmm, sounds like a discussion of Hep C treatment before DAAs came around.
“Back in the day, we’d inject ourselves daily with Interferon, shiver all night like whores in church, and spend our days feeling like bloated corpses after a Jim Jones cyanide party, and WE BLOODY LUV’D IT!”
Also, the fellow stage left looks an awful lot like Marty Feldman
If you’re in the US, there are private labs which offer this service.
LFTs are an inexpensive ‘out of pocket’ test.
Weighing one’s health against public largess is usually a no win equation.
Just found this today.
Looks like Gilead might have some real competition on the horizon.

Y’all rock!A word to other Americans who may be having difficulty obtaining their results in a timely manner. The medical staff, clinics, labs, etc. won’t tell us this – but we have an absolute legal right to copies of our own medical records upon request.
We may have to go to the clinic or physicians office in person to get them, but under the law we are entitled to them, and they are obliged to provide them upon request.
After the usual wrangling with the lab (no joy), and a call to the Gastroenterology office (no joy again), I decided to go down in person and pry the results loose.
Well, I got em’ im my hand, and today it’s official. 4 weeks post treatment and UNDETECTED! SVR 4 baby! Yeah!!!
GrimTrigger,
I’ve been where you are, and so have a lot of people here.
I waited a YEAR for an appointment to see a Gastroenterologist in the US to be evaluated for that treatment, and was DENIED that treatment.
My insurance company said “You may have your prescription [for Harvoni] filled, but we will not pay for it”. Talk about a gut punch!
My doctor here in the US had written a prescription, but I never saw it. No one ever bothered to give it to me, or put it in my hand, because they knew it was worthless. It was never going to be filled.
But I’ll tell you what, that pissed me off, really pissed me off! There was a cure, I knew it, and after decades of being sick with this shit, I wasn’t about to let that miserable insurance company prick keep me from getting well.
I can’t tell you what to do, but I’ll tell you what I did. I got on the computer found out about FixHepC.com and had a consultation with Dr. James Freeman at, GP2U telehealth. https://gp2u.com.au/ Cost me about $60 US, and that was about the best $60 I’ve ever spent.
After that consultation, I had an honest to god prescription IN HAND, enrolled in the REDEMPTION 3 Trials, paid for my medication (around US $1600) and less than 3 weeks later I had a 12 week supply of Mylan MYHEP LVIR, which is a Gilead licensed clone of Harvoni IN MY HANDS.
By 4 weeks my viral load had gone from around 5.5 million to 35, at 6 weeks it was under 15 (that’s Undetectable for all intents and purposes), was UNDETECTABLE at 8 weeks, and I completely finished that 12 week course of treatment a month ago yesterday.
You can read about my experience here: http://fixhepc.com/forum/patient-stories/1061-fitz-starts-redemption-3-trial.html?limitstart=0
You are in charge of your treatment now. You have arrived. Welcome to the promised land, brother.
God bless Texas.
