Today I had my blood drawn by my G.I. After I left there I took my first dose and happy to report drinking lots of water & no side effects. I’m really motivated to kill this virus, I hope my journey is successful.
I will document all my issues, good, bad and viral loads. I want to thank everybody here on this board for giving me the motivation & determination to move forward and take this disease into my own hands with the incredible help of GP2U, MonkMed and especially MikeG, and also everyone on this site whom have been like old friends, I appreciate it.
I totally agree with GT2….persistence and desire/determination alone are omnipotent. Nothing takes the place of persistence and desire/determination! Do what you need to do before you can’t do it.
In good health my friends!

14 July 2016 at 1:48 pm #20919Hi Sven
Welcome aboard the FixHepC longship. I wish you smooth sailing in your quest to slay the HCV dragon. You are well equipped to do so with your generic DAAs as your weapon of choice, and with plenty of battle hardened FixHepC warriors behind you willing to offer you back-up support should you need it. Draw on your presumed Scandinavian heritage by evoking Eric the Red’s fighting spirit, and use the symbolic dragon head on his longship’s bow for good luck, to slay the HCV dragon.
Best Wishes
GT2

Yes the Viking heritage runs strong through my Swedish veins, and I look to Thor the God of Thunder, he was Odin’s son and was my Dad’s name as well, he will help me slay the proverbial dragon HCV.
After my coffee I will throw down the second dose and continue to take charge of this beast.
BTW, I totally agree with your assessment that persistence and desire/determination alone are omnipotent. I was taught that many years ago and it still holds true today.
In good health to you my friend.

2nd dose this AM with an increase in BP but it subsided a few hours later, I think it was the anticipation of it all. It is surreal that I am even doing this GP2U trial as it has been so long coming!
I will not post anything on this until next week or if anything special happens.
Thx again to all.

7/07/16 UND SVR 2415 July 2016 at 9:58 pm #20958Well done sven! i am new too, today on my 11th day with no side effects at all. yes i do have a little cold and brief episodes of migrane but being a recovering heroin addict well let me tell you, this is a piece of cake! as with you i had so far a tremendous experience with Monkmed and Tim in new york. meds were delivered by fedex very very quickly. i cannot be happier so far. bloods in two weeks. i know i will beat this bastard and i feel bad for all those addicts out there with the means to buy this fantastic drug. truly i sometimes think i might donate a free treatment myself as soon as i am done in september. $1060!! instead of the over £30G they ask for here in the uk. i dont know, maybe i will. ciao ciao

For sure the side affects are minimal compared to h withdrawal which I too have gone through many times over the years
All the best and smooth sailing to you and Sven on your journey

Now I must say so far, yes so far….going on day 7 tomorrow morning there is barely any issues with meds minus a little more fatigue and a taste of high BP initially. I’m impressed seriously.
We all have heard by word of mouth, conversation and posts of those whom have had a difficult time on genetic Harvoni, I truly hope they all stay the course and there symptoms subside.
Thank you all and I’ll continue to make my journey public to this forum.
In good health my friends.PS: I really do feel much better. Placibo? I’m not sure but what ever it is has me feeling better, clearer minded and a bit more even keeled.

It is not Placebo, Sven. It is real. You’re feeling better. It does seem a bit odd at first, I know. You’ll get used to feeling better quickly,
19 July 2016 at 8:50 am #21055It’s not placebo. It’s the DAAs working. That’s what my doc said
