Victory celebration time!
Hey Matt! Cant wait to see those SVR 4 results! Fingers crossed for you, and prayers out buddy! .
Following is a vacation photo of the most phenominal guitarist I’ve ever seen. An Aussie I believe. The guy in the American flag jacket to her right was pretty good too. Together they put on a hell of show!
Dedicated to Dr. James Freeman, and every one of my fellow travelers here.
Thanks RHF. Yesterday was my last dose of generic Sof/Led obtained through the REDEMPTION 3 Trial. 6 weeks since VL <15, and 4 weeks since UND.
Today is EOT for me, and it feels a bit surreal not to have opened the bottle of MYHEP LIVR -- Generic 'Harvoni' Sofosbuvir 400mg, Ledispavir 90mg produced under Gilead license in India by Natco for Mylan. The medicine bottles are now quite empty, there is no medicine left. I have taken the entire 12 week course of treatment. I'm done.
To recap - after a year of waiting to see a specialist, and then being denied Harvoni by my insurance company, I found Mike Galbraith, and Dr. James, had a consultation with Dr. Freeman of GP2U Telehealth in Hobart Tasmania AUS, and then enrolled in the REDEMPTION 3 Trials, immediately receiving a consultation with Dr. Debasis of Monkmed (India), and an email that my medication had shipped from India.
Less than three weeks later, I had the lifesaving medication - which my insurance company had refused to pay for - in my hand. And for the first time in decades, I had real hope, and a real shot at a cure!
If anyone is reading this and wants to understand exactly how this unfolded - this entire thread is dedicated to journaling that journey. Start with the first post on this thread and just keep reading. Its all there.
There are still some big milestones ahead. SVR 4, SVR 12, and god willing SVR 24. If I am one of the ~96% of patients who is completely cured, those results will be posted as they become available. If I am not, I know that there are affordable options to re-treat, and whether or not I reach SVR this time - I am absolutely confident that I WILL.
Let me tell you, that is an AMAZING sense of empowerment, and the Fix Hep C community has made that empowerment possible. I am grateful beyond words.

Seeing people getting well and not going broke.
I love it.
mMe too, Mike!
Just back from a week (or so) goofing off with my wife in Texas, and now catching up with all of the news and posts.
Will post pics. Good to be back!

Get on with then mr clique!OK…. lets take a moment here. Pat I am so so happy for you! Sven, I understood and appreciated your original post on this thread in the joyful and enthusiastic spirit it was intended.
Unfortunately, sometimes the words we write – in the context of characters on a white background – do not fully convey what we feel in our hearts and are striving to communicate.
What I see here is a miscommunication between fellow travelers who are simply at different points along the same journey.
Pat1, Sven – you are both so loved here, and Pat’s SVR 24 is such wonderful news!
I have personally used my edit button many times when misunderstanding led to miscommunication. Our misunderstandings are not written in stone here. They are only as permanent our unwillingness to use the edit button allows them to be.
Love for you both
Amazing and wonderful news Pat! SVR 24!!! Woohoo! You did it. Big smiles and joy for you
Good luck Sven! What a transformation, and what a triumph my friend! When we begin to really feel well we get busy, right?
I hope you’ll continue to participate in the FHC community, and won’t hesitate to pop in once in a while and let us know how its going.
You’ve got my contact information now. Please give me a shout anytime, brother!
Hah! You did it, buddy!!!
Awesome news!
See you when you get back Sven. I’ll PM my phone number. Call anytime you want to chat, buddy.
Fitz
Thanks Gaj, Greedfighter, MtGoat. Ya’ll are awesome!
Mike G, you were one of the first people I talked to on the way here. Your support, guidance, and experience was instrumental in the ability to push through the fear, and get the treatment I needed. I appreciate you brother!
Where there’s a will there’s a way, Matt.
My GI doc would only order tests per Gilead guidelines, and refused to order 8 week VL tests. In retrospect, she’s probably sticking her neck out to follow me in the first place and doesn’t want to rock the boat.
Another doc ordered the test for me, and long story short, I got 6 week, and 8 week VL tests (important for me, since I needed to know whether to extend tx, and EOT is too late to make that decision).
Good luck buddy. I have a feeling you’ll get it worked out. Anyone determined enough to have found FixHepC, and to have completed treatment with generic DAAs probably couldn’t be kept away from testing with a team of wild horses
