Hello Vororo, we had Vistaprint make them. There have been some printed t-shirts and embroided polo tops.

At the very least Vistaprint have operations in at least Australia https://www.vistaprint.com.au, UK https://www.vistaprint.co.uk, France https://www.vistaprint.fr and the USA https://www.vistaprint.com I suppose they are in most countries.

All that is really required are the graphics which you are most welcome to use and you can get from here: https://fixhepc.com/photo-gallery.html (click the T-Shirt Graphics Tab)

Then just make an account on Vistaprint, drop whatever graphic you want onto whatever T-Shirt or Polo takes your fancy, give them a little bit of money and they will be with you in about a week.

If you have trouble with the designing (the widget used to have a few quirks) just send me your account login details for Vistaprint and I will fix it up. From memory it’s better to upload the graphics, then add them in, rather than add them in directly.

Anybody who wants to use the images is welcome to do so, but please don’t add obscene text!

NB: If you are doing embroidery please note this. The red is pure RGB red, however on Vistaprint, when I did it the first time it looked a bit orange. When the polos arrived they were VERY orange. I rang up, they changed it and sent free replacements, but … if the logo comes out orange please give them a call before finalising the payment. They will fix the colour thread so they turn out the way you would expect.

    Hello Redhead,

It all sounds pretty straight forward. If you know your genotype with ceratainty we can choose medications, but if we did not we could choose from the “One medication treats all” range.

Just go to https://gp2u.com.au/ and register as a patient. Upload the results you have and book in with me and I will get you sorted.

If I could give you a 100% cast iron guarantee I would, but I can’t, it’s all statistics.

On the good news side, if you wanted to really dig back into the forum you will see people who failed first time up, who did not get left behind, and we got them cured on the flip side.

At FixHepC we do run by the Marines slogan of nobody left behind.

    Hello Top14u,

Sadly the 8 week results are not as good as the 12 week results and we’ve seen a few people like you.

Retreatment is simple with a few different options, and getting the medication to the UK is also no problem.

Probably the best thing to do would be to register at https://gp2u.com.au/ and book an appointment with me. I have been away in Brazil for the last few days at the World Hepatitis Summit and won’t be back on deck in Australia until Wednesday.

    Hi Edge, wonderful news!

You are officially cured. If the virus was still present it has had 24 weeks to grow back and during 23 or so of those weeks you have had no useful levels of medication in your system so there has been nothing to stop it.

It has not come back because it is gone… for good.

You can still catch it again, but short of that it is officially over.

Well done and thanks for your faith in us!

    Hi LynnR

Being <15 in 22 days is good. That is as low as can be counted.

You can completely ignore the carbon dioxide level - it really has no meaning in this context.

In all the hundreds, more, people who have shipped into the US there hasn’t been a problem

Ah, actually there are regular problems. We do what’s required to make sure patients get their medication, but it is not always smooth sailing.

There are 2 people working full time on a task that could be broadly defined as “get stuff cleared through customs”.

The rules of personal importation from the FDA start with a statement that it’s not allowed, and then follow on with the exception cases:

    https://www.fda.gov/ForIndustry/ImportProgram/ImportBasics/ucm432661.htm

In most circumstances, it is illegal for individuals to import drugs or devices into the U.S. for personal use because…

It then goes on to say:

Are there any circumstances when I could purchase or bring an unapproved drug or device into the U.S.?

FDA has guidance for personal importation of drug or device products. Below provides information regarding situations for which this might be allowed:

    • Product is not for treatment of a serious condition and there is no known significant health risk (Over the Counter, OTC); and
    • Product is for the treatment of a serious condition ( Prescription Drug Products):
    • The product is for a serious condition for which effective treatment may not be available domestically either through commercial or clinical means.
    • There is no known commercialization or promotion of the product to persons residing in the U.S.
    • The product does not represent an unreasonable risk.
    • The consumer affirms in writing that the product is for personal use.
    • The quantity is generally not more than a three month supply and either:
    • Provide the name and address of the doctor licensed in the U.S. responsible for your treatment with the product, or
    • Provide evidence that the product is for the continuation of a treatment begun in a foreign country.

This is the grey area in which we operate. There has definitely been a recent tightening of these rules and the assumption that the status quo will prevail indefinitely has ALWAYS been wrong. The going is still good but like the financial people say “past performance is no guarantee of future performance”. We offer a money back delivery guarantee to help de-risk it for patients.

It has been said often but bears repeating.

There is currently a window of opportunity to access these medications.

That opportunity may well not exist indefinitely.

    Hi Erica,

Those blood results are all fine and barely out of range. You have been having phlebotomy so it would be unusual if your red cell count was not a little low and your white cells are fine.

You are still detected, as in <15 detected at the 4 week mark which is ok, but not as good as <15 undetected.

This HCV result does have some predictive value about SVR. We found (in a study of n=448) that 23% of patients are still detected at 4 weeks, but these form 44% of the failures. The VA found similarly in a study of n=4365 - for them the 22% still detected formed 50% of the failures. Failure rates are low, but in rough terms a circa 97% pre treatment success rate currently looks like about 93% for you. It's worth noting that 75% of patients still detected at End Of Treatment still SVR.

The consideration at this time is if adding an extra 4 weeks treatment is worth it for the insurance value. At best it adds 3% or so versus a basline of over 90% so on a "% cure per $ spent" basis it is a bad investment but some people see the value in it.

Nothing to panic about, just something to consider. For patients with GT1 there are lots of retreatement option. There are less for GT3 and it responds slower (which is why we suggest 16 weeks Sof/Dac for it).

I'm happy to have a chat with you in person about it via video if you'd like.

    Hi Erica,

You will be having a few blood tests on treatment.

People with haemochromatosis differ greatly in the need to bleed. For some it’s quite often, for others rarely.

You mention the heavy feeling and many patients do seem to be able to sense when it’s time. Provided you’re checked from time to time, and bled as needs be….

    Hi Erica,

    Best you stop the phlebotomies!

Ferritin is an acute phase protein. Long story short, any illness tends to elevate it and Hep C certainly can.

A normal diet and no more being bled would seem to be in order…..
