Hi vedruss,
If you scroll back to the top of this page, there are a line of blue tabs that are shortcuts to various parts of the forum.
‘Index’ is view of forum topics by category, ‘Recent Topics’ is posts by date order. ‘New Topic’ is to start your own new topic. Etc.
Hope that helps.

Hi Smp123 & welcome.
I’m not sure how you are viewing the forum currently but if you scroll to the top of this page you will see set of blue tabs that provide shortcuts to various areas. If you click on the one labelled “Index” this will take you to forum topics by category. Most of the information you ask about can be found in the Experts Corner section under the heading
. Here is a link to that area, the yellow ‘pinned’ posts at the top cover most of the Daclatasvir relevant information although a read through the others may also assist.
https://fixhepc.com/forum/drug-interactions.html
(The “hep-drugsinteractions” checker that Mnem links is excellent but more geared towards medicines/pharmaceuticals than everyday foods and drinks, etc. though it does list some of the more well known consumables like Grapefuit)

Congratulations on SVR12. That’s great news Keith.
Here’s a link to a thread regarding fibrosis levels with a chart. Fourth line down is for HCV so with 6.1 kpa reading it looks like you would be about F1.

Hi HVC2B,
I also find an iPhone awkward. Too small and fiddly. If you have an iPad or tablet that you can hot spot to your phone it makes things much easier. But here are some suggestions that may help:
– When you want to Login, make sure you go to the forum page first rather than starting with the screen that requires “Captcha” code.
– Log in from there using your user name (HVC2 and your password.
– Tick the “Remember Me” square – this will help ensure that when your iPhone and the site disconnect in the middle of a session, they will automatically reconnect again.
– Type up long posts on the “Notes” app on your phone then when happy with it copy and paste into a forum post.Hoping that helps another iPhone fumbler like me.

Hi Nitro and welcome,
Please don’t panic. Contact the FixhepC office via email help@fixhepc.com they have people whose job it is to sort out these sort of customs/FDA delays.
It’s just after 9:00am Monday morning where they are as I type so there should be someone in the office.

Hi Redhead & welcome.
As Greedfighter says, if you contact Fixhepc they will be able to tell you exactly what you need.
There are a number of contact methods listed on the blue bar at the top of this page. I would recommend an initial email to help@fixhepc.com so you can attached scans of the documents you currently have on hand as well as your questions above. That way they will be able to inform you if anything else is required along with other advice.

Hi Seedy,
After rereading your various posts it sounds like the twelve week test may be when you recently finished treatment (took the last of your pills) rather than 12 weeks after finishing treatment? If so a viral load test result of undetected (0) at that stage is certainly good news but it is the tests during the weeks after treatment has finished that really determine likelihood of cure.
I believe Coral is referring to the post that Dr Freeman made (in the link below) regarding viral load testing during the period after you have finished taking the pills.
https://fixhepc.com/forum/viral-load-and-svr/1518-the-wait-between-eot-to-svr.html
The problem can be gaining access to this additional testing in some countries (and of course the cost if you have to pay for the tests yourself). Additional testing at 4 weeks, 12 weeks and 24 weeks is ideal and will give confidence that you have been cured particularly the 24 week after test.
If this option is not available for whatever reason(s) then please read the below quote from the link.
“If you can’t get/can’t afford to do a viral load testing ALT level is a very good indicator. If it is no more than 20% higher than on treatment you are fine. If it has risen by 100% that is a worry, so 10->12, 20->24, 40->48 is nothing to worry about, but 10->20 or 20->40, or 40->80 is.”

Hi LynneR and welcome
I am unable to comment on your other blood tests but the viral load tests look good.
You have gone from a VL count of 1.9 million pre treatment to less than 15 but detected in 22 days so you are well on the way to being cured. The second set is in Log form which is just a different (mathematic) way of expressing the exact same numbers. Scientists (and sometimes Doctors) use the Log scale but most of the rest of us use IU(International Units) as per your top set of results which are easier to understand. Here is a link to a post that shows how the Log scale compares to the IU scale.
https://fixhepc.com/forum/viral-load-results/827-labs-and-their-techniques.html#22490
The graphics used in your report may appear a little confusing because they show the second set of tests as “bigger squares”. Ignore that, it may mean something to the test lab but has nothing to do with the actual results which are the numbers/Log results.

Hi Are125,
Welcome, I’m glad you have been able to start treatment.
For assistance with answers to your current issue I suggest you email Fixhepc at help@fixhepc.com or phone them on +61 3 8672 7825
I’m sure they will be able to help with the answers required, although it is Sunday morning in Australia at the moment so the main office may not be fully manned but will be within 22 hours of my post.

Hi johnapple07,
Please be aware that while Sofosbuvir 400mg (Sovaldi) is a breakthrough drug, it is not a very effective HCV treatment by itself.
Treatment with Sovaldi requires its use in a combination treatment that includes at least one other drug such as Daclatasvir or Ledipasvir, either of which significantly increase treatment effectiveness.
Betterdays also needs to take other medications so it was suggested that based on those other medication’s potential for interactions, Sovaldi/Daclatasvir would be a more suitable treatment option for their situation than Harvoni.

Welcome Saban,
Your platelet (PLT) levels do seem low, as you say that is probably from cirrhosis. Mine were in the low 90s pretreatment but since then have gradually increased to 140-160 range. It does take time but I believe yours will improve too.
If you read through other people’s experiences of treatment here you will see that we all seem to respond a little differently to these medications, probably because most of us had HCV for many years and the virus has affected us all differently, both physically and emotionally. So some feel better very quickly with no side effects while others may take a bit longer to feel well again. But regardless of how we feel the medications kill off the virus very quickly so after three weeks I would expect your viral load has decreased very significantly even if you can’t feel the difference just yet.
Speaking of emotions, Ribavirin is known for sometimes causing these side effects and for some of us can be a bit of a ‘roller-coaster’ ride, which may explain some of the stress you are feeling at work. I had two 6 month treatments using riba and both times I found that I became very emotional over things that would not normally worry me at all, in fact during my last treatment with it I made a joke on this forum about how I couldn’t stop crying when I saw cute puppies on television …..but I also could get angry and snap at people over silly little things that weren’t important. I found that the trick is to remember you are on ribavirin medication before reacting when people do or say something that upsets you…..and apologise quickly if you forget that. (If you are able to share this information with your employer it can assist them to understand what is happening and work with you to get through this period but I realise that is not possible for many of us).
Looking forward to hearing news of your successful treatment.
