    Hi Aaron,

I had my gallbladder out, in the years my hep C was quite active. I kept the stones, they look like pearls!

Attacks were quite gaspingly painful, I would curl up on my knees, crushing chest pain. They took it out, never happened again, and I have had very few digestive problems since, sadly, if it was hard to digest some of those foods I’d be better at avoiding them.

But you will never get that kind of attack again once it is out. All the best. Op isn’t bad.

Sure send me an email if you want, hazel@seedthechange.nz or ask here, happy to answer.

I have actually nothing left to hide, that I don’t mind sharing or if I do, way too late! I have this story out here in a womens magazine, they make a lot over old news that has my mother in law fussing.

As far as my recovery goes, nothing magic to report, no special diet, no supplements. I lost weight, is the main thing.

    Hi rightsaidfred,

Great post. Your garden sounds like mine.

Do I recall you are in England? London by any chance? I’m going to be there with a couple of people in April, 16th-20th,
We’ re going to be making noise about hep C treatment, stigma etc. We’ll be meeting up with the World Hep Alliance and doing some interviews.

Email me hazel@seedthechange.nz if you are around or would like to catch up.

    This is the team, https://www.hepc-action.nz/about/#the-team

Thanks for this post. Pretty much every time I open this forum I think of Guy, and what he was like, and how the world needs people like him more than ever.

We started treatment nearly the same day, his first time round. He kind of towered here for his rational, compassionate style. And he slipped away with no comment on the hand he was dealt. Many people were encouraged through their dark days by him.

Love this post Stingray! I think of myself as coming to it early, but way before that people like you were taking the leap and showing those of us close behind the way across.

I too weighed up, what is the worst that can happen- but it was already posts from you first dragon slayers that reassured me, this is actually what it seems…. street address….. phone number…. faces, names…. no scammer is this organised. The hive mind of the net would be throwing up alarms by now if this was bullshit. If it is not, then it is genius, and brave, and lifesaving. And it was.

You, and I, and thousands of us now are completely cured… #magic#

    Hey Rockhard,
Yes, I have done 24 weeks of DAA’s…… it was pretty easy for me, I have seen lots of people do it, adding riba does make it tougher for some people, it did for me but as you say, we do what we have to!

I was third time lucky treating, having ‘experienced’ 12 months old school interferon then 6 months pegylated + riba. I was at the business end of running out of time when I got my meds from FixhepC and now, I am annoyingly well! It is amazing to feel like the years have dropped off and my life is – before cure, and after. After is awesome!!.

I used to work in the mental health field with a very wise woman, she had bipolar and she would tell people struggling with not wanting to take medication- No one wants to, but some of us need to, and when we need to , and there is a pill that helps, changes our lives- we are the lucky ones. Taking them gratefully, feels so much better than resenting having to take them.

I still have to take a bit of a handful each day, thyroid, blood pressure etc and I do that- tell myself, wow I am lucky. Otherwise it would be a drag- as it is, a gift. I noticed it the other day that I still do- is such a habit now.

    Best of luck with yours.

Belated Merry Christmas and holiday season to all

Mar, thank you for all you do here , answering people always so kindly and promptly. Have a great New Year.

It has been a big year for me, one which I would not have lived to see without FixhepC coming to the rescue. I graduated with a law degree a couple of weeks ago, and I have my sights set on medication pricing, human rights, kicking some butts :) . And enjoying seeing others beat hep C.

It is definitely fine to take paracetamol if you stick to stated dose and timing, I was cirrhotic and it is all I ever took for anything. People say – it is bad for the liver!- but that is only the case if too much, too often. Four times a day, not 6, two tabs, not 3, is safe, our livers process no problem, works for me if I’m sick or have a headache.
