I have absolutely no regrets, or doubts that paying for the drugs was a mistake. It has been incredibly empowering for me to value my life and take it into my own hands without waiting or stalling, being able to make my own decisions and not getting any sicker has been one of the best things I have done. As soon as I started treatment the anxiety of waiting left me.
I totally agree Joan!
Thanks to Dr James and the fixhepc team we have been given the gift of taking control of our own health. A huge hand up.
As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others. Bill Gates
It’s a billion over 5 years according to ABC news:
Cheat to get higher up the inevitable list?
I’d rather pay for generics thanks. Simpler, faster, surer.
Hmmm – only a billion $? That means less than $5000 per patient.
Does that mean they didn’t deal with Gilead???
“The move will make Australia one of the first countries in the world to publicly subsidise the drugs for their entire population, no matter what a patient’s condition is or how they contracted the disease.”
BRAVO!
WOW O WOW O WOW
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS NEWS! illy:' /> illy:' />

Did you have dizziness?
I have a lot of symptoms, I hope mine alleviates a little bit.No Enkel, I didn’t have dizziness, just some brain fog during the first few weeks. How about you? When did you start treatment? Have you noticed any improvements?
Henry it’s so good to hear your news, you really do sound like a new man.
‘Mental straightjacket’ Zhuk – very apt description!
Chejai, congratulations for taking control of your health – happiness is on its way.
I’m on day 64 of 84.
Symptoms that have practically disappeared include anxiety, depression, dry eye, broken sleep, frequent urination, poor digestion, chronic joint & muscle pain, and last but not least – hot flushes. Very very happy bunny.
I hope you do find some relief once treatment starts Zhuk. You deserve a reprieve.
Add me to the list of those liberated from joint and muscle pain during Tx. Right shoulder and hip were chronic. Thought the shoulder might have been referred pain from the liver, but now it seems both were suffering from HCV.
Funny how quickly you forget about the pain that WAS.
What about the good doctor’s plan re pricing? On his blog last week:
http://fixhepc.com/blog/item/30-a-new-plan-for-pbs-pricing-negotiations.html
That sounds like a middle way to me.
Took a quick look at that site. The layout scrambled my brains, but I’m enjoying your conversation.
Pity her name is JOY.
