Wow those ACT UP LONDON guys really made a statement. Chopped liver and all.
Activists against Greediad unite!Screaming “Pills costs pennies, greed costs lives” the protesters held ‘chopped liver’ in their hands to demonstrate that drug companies were butchering the lives of hepatitis C patients by refusing to charge a fair price for the medicines.
ACT UP LONDON activist Dani Singer said – “This is an appalling disregard for human life. The profiteering of these companies is a moral outrage. We demand they drop the prices so everyone in the world who needs them can get access. If they don’t then governments must intervene to force those prices down.”
Cindi that is the BEST news! Brought tears to me eyes that Young J has been saved so much misery and can look forward to a much brighter future.
Way to go Klhilde! Great news!
And I understand about the psychological attachment – my night-time pill popping ritual ends in 4 weeks. Have never slept better and don’t want that to end!
2b I hope you get some good news re VL very soon.
Good advice GAJ, and like you Life, there were days my body simply could not drag itself to the yoga class or the walking track, no matter what the mind and spirit were saying. But lately I’ve begun dabbling in more classes – like zumba for geriatrics, and even stand up paddle board on the lake. Apart from a revived appreciation of this beautiful area, I’m laughing more. All signs of a healthier, happier and more hopeful me.
And all thanks to Greg and Dr James.I agree Chapel, good credible report with ample footage from Dallas Buyers Club (go the underdog!).
Greg and Dr James a fine looking pair.More news from the US:
Blue Cross is being blasted in a new class action lawsuit filed in California for not covering Harvoni treatment for the “sickest” hepatitis C patients, said lead attorney Robert Gianelli with Gianelli & Morris, who represents the plaintiff.
“Instead of covering people at all stages [of Hepatitis C], they drew a line so their bottom line would not be affected,” Gianelli said. According to the complaint, Blue Cross denied Harvoni for hepatitis C patients who have fibrosis scores below F3.
Class action against Gilead to follow?
Fantastic and inspiring news Angus, and great that your specialist is so helpful.
Yes, profound indeed, like dragging around a ball and chain.
Now we can reimagine our futures…
Hi Zhuk, I took Milk Thistle on and off for years (also recommended by the liver specialist) but stopped when I started Tx, along with vitamin supplements.
No you’re not dreaming. Hep C free-dom on the horizon.
Hi Zhuk, very exciting news that your meds have arrived – good luck with being a patient patient for another month. I couldn’t do it!
Great news Jolie, must be a relief to finally get started. May it be an easy journey to an undetected end.
Love your cat band. Meow. -
