    @londongirl

The HepC Trust also want patients on generics to talk to the media…but they, as usual, are keeping this quiet.

They frustrate me with their reticence … but they are sponsered in part by Gilead, so.

Pleased to read you’re UND week 9 :+1: and good luck with the more detailed scan. I’m suprised they can see anything much at all if Ireland have similar USound scan equip to the ones we have locally to me here in England!

1970s dentists (and in fact dentists 2015) School vaccinations, medical procedures and …. contact with the blood of others, particularly partners and those who are alcoholics, self-abuse and bleed often. Home done tattoos.

I was never taught to avoid the blood of others. We even used to do that pin-prick blood brothers / sisters thing way back when. I think medical procedures especially in the 60s/70s have helped the virus spread, no doubt about that in my mind

Dear Hope, What a horrible experience – I really feel for you having been through similar treatment with a previous consultant myself. That Dr is supposed to be caring for you, I hope when this is all over you will raise a complaint.

Please don’t stop! I was still detected at 8 weeks – and <12 at 11 weeks and I have extended treatment. Not everyone is the same, the worst thing you could do is stop at this point. As you haven't even had your VL figures, you could be <12 or 32, or some really low figure and you still had 8 weeks to go when the test was taken !

It must be quite scary to have this Dr. - It's a shame you can't change. Is there any other way of getting your own VL test privately? Did you get your meds through Redemption /Fix Hep C? You could ask Dr Freemans advise or Dr Debasis from MonkMed. I'm sure though, that any normal Dr would request the result of you VL test before advising or say keep going until your next VL test.

What is interesting though, is I had antibiotics mid treatment. I read somewhere recently from an official paper, that antibiotics can mess with the Abbvie medicines, I am wondering if they can also affect other treatments, even though they say they don't.

It is hard to tell anything without those blood test results though. Your Dr may have done a qualitative VL test which would just say detected or undetected rather than a VL Quantitative count maybe? You should ask her - really.

I think you need advise from a different Dr really Hope. Keep talking the pills and try to get some other advise I would suggest. #love

ps I can't see your Genotype etc in your profile...if you can pop that in, it could help people when reading your posts. #flower

Hellooo :) – I had the test, but apparently there are delays last week and this week .
I had it worked out that they do a batch of VL tests late Friday mornings and made an appointment for early Friday morning hoping that I wouldn’t have a long wait ( it worked the previous time ) – but I am told by a reliable source (who actually finds out for me as soon as the labs come back and txts me bless) that there are delays and they are still waiting for their results from the previous week, so I’m trying not to think about it until it arrives. If it comes back <12 again (as seems to have happened with a few people I know around here) I'll do another one elsewhere I think. Things can be slow (and very expensive) if you source your own though, 7 'working days' ...so that's 10ish in reality.

It'll be time for a new one soon ;)

Been thinking about you too dear Ariel, is it me or are the past couple of weeks dragging ?

SendIng BIG #love - lg xx

Hi Serg, I see this as the point being made possibly?

what justification is there for the gargantuan prices of these drugs?

What treatment helped your difficult to treat friend reach SVR in the end?

I agree there is much more detailed research to be done, I guess this just the beginning.

btw – Portugal treated everyone with HepC and have reported 96% SVR at ILC2016 I believe. So you could say they did a massive trial!

If anyone from the UK is willing to talk to the Daily Mail (not my fave paper !) – They want to run a sympathetic article on treating with generics via FixHepC – PM me. They say it can be anonymous and via email or phone.
