If Hillary Clinton wins next year, she may be able to exercise some executive action, because she won’t be able to get anything through the Republican majority in Congress. If a Republican wins in November, Gilead will be secure in its predatory pricing.
The way I see it, if someone doesn’t have the $5000 to $8000 needed to go to India or can’t work out a direct import for half that, they probably qualify for patient assistance somewhere. That “treatment exodus” of dollars will come straight out of Gilead’s pocket. Up until now, they have had everyone by the short hairs. This kind of market pressure is what is needed right now. There will still be a lot of people caught in the middle, but the medical tourism business is going to get a big boost. and Gilead’s revenue is going to take a substantial hit. The insurers should be buying tourism packages for their clients. They could pay for 12 people to get 12 weeks of Twinvir for what they are paying for my 8 week Harvoni treatment alone.

Time will tell.

Well, We have some things in common both: gt 1a, decades of disease and fatigue and taking the same tx. I am on day 42. I had a dull headache for 3 days. No other side effects. I started noticing an increase in energy about, well, 17 or 18 days into tx. It was a subtle uncrease, but I have been feeling a little better each day and that adds up! I teach 9th grade and that has been a real challenge the past 3 or 4 years. I thought I was going to have to retire early. Not anymore! I come home after a long day of “stamping out ignorance” with some stomps still left in me. I tested F-1 (biopsy) a year ago and my enzymes were ALT: 212, AST: 124. My v/l was 4.9 million.
My 26 day (generic harvoni) labs: ALT: 17, AST: 16, v/l: Und.
So, you have a lot to look forward to. Looking back, I believe many of my problems were caused by stress and worry. They were still problems though-just as real as a broken leg. After living my entire adult life being sick, I am now virus-free and hope to stay that way. My mind is in a much better place and my body can focus on healing instead of fighting.

Have you tried to set up an appointment using GP2U with Dr. Freeman. The lab result monitoring is really all that is usually needed with these new meds. All you would need to do is get your GP to order them done. My PCP is doing that and I am sending my lab results to my GI several hundred miles away.
Call those Torpac people tell them get their ass moving or are starting to like the taste??
