Very interesting. It’s great to see information of possible interactions, both positive and negative, come to light. We’ve all been sailing in mostly dark, uncharted waters without navigation lights and this is invaluable for future patients.
Personally I have continued to take Jeunesse AM/PM Essentials which I started several months before treatment and made a noticeable improvement to my feeling of well being, although I take less than 1/2 the recommended dose (it’s quite expensive). It contains small amounts of taurine and green tea extract among dozens of other things. I was DET <15 at 4 weeks.

Unfortunately you need to register to read it.
The precis on the front page says:In the few HCV patients for whom DAA treatment fails, I consider a combination of 2 or more of the following: switching to a different DAA class, treating for longer, or adding ribavirin.

Melbourne, AustraliaThat’s comparing apples and oranges. $3000 is the wholesale price of just the battery unit, $15,000 is retail for battery + solar panels + installation.
I agree that Australian prices are regularly absurd compared to overseas for many items even allowing for the weak Aussie dollar atm.

Melbourne, AustraliaI’d guess a lot more people here are currently on Tx rather than finished. As time goes by there may be more post-tx reflections.

Melbourne, AustraliaOn the issue of “genotype change”, it was postulated in another thread that someone could be co-infected with multiple genotypes but the test may only detect one. Possibly if G4 was detected and cleared, a co-infection with G3 could have been present and not cleared but detected in subsequent test. Only a theory but sounds more likely than genotype morphism.

You mention this product you use-
“Ingredients: Wintergreen 40%, Menthol 15% and Camphor 6%. Inactive ingredients: Eucalyptus 18%, Peppermint 15% and Lavender 6%. Because of methyl salicylate’s toxicity I use it sparingly and very occasionally.”
My query is how is it possible that the Eucalyptus, Peppermint and Lavender oils can be “inactive”? Did you read that right?
There is very good reason that whole blend is combined that way. It looks very similar to good old ‘Tiger Balm’ – but that uses petrochemical and mineral oil base.
Such a blend is meant to be used sparingly and on tiny patches of skin, always avoiding eyes – not liberally applied to large areas – so you’re only absorbing ‘therapeutic doses.” Very effective combo, especially for lurking migraines.Great section Ladies and lurking Gents (just kidding with you Sonix)
I just copy pasted from a Chinglish website. http://scarfamilyditdajow.com/WhiteFlowerOil.htm
Definitely similar to Tiger Balm, which I still use for muscle pain (Cambodian imitation version actually). Tiger Balm doesn’t have wintergreen which possibly makes White Flower more effective for headaches.

Melbourne, AustraliaWe can only help spread the word, not make decisions for people even if they base those decisions on inaccurate information.
I have a good friend who also has Hep C but more serious than myself as he is F4 and previously failed Inf/Riba. I had a long chat when I first found FixHepC and started treatment, told him how straightforward the process is and thought he might like a headstart. Nope, he’s going to wait for PBS availability. Which was announced in the week after I started but I have no regrets about starting 3 months earlier or about spending the dough.I am reminded of a little fable:
There’s a story about a little boy that was on the beach throwing back starfish that had washed ashore. A man came along and saw the little boy throwing back the starfish and told the boy, “Little boy, you’re wasting your time. There are thousands of starfish washed ashore, you can’t possibly throw them all back. This is nature’s way. You’re wasting your time, you can’t make a difference.” The little boy looked at the starfish he was holding, then threw it back into the ocean and said, “Made a difference to that one.”

Melbourne, AustraliaA quick update. I got 4 week blood results –
VL DET <15 down from 223,000
ALT 22 (<45) down from 54
AST 22 (<35) down from 42
Platelets 123 (150-450) down from 157
All other tests in range. So looking pretty good and promising. I had another qualitative VL test this week at 6.5 weeks so hopefully und.
Side effects have abated so I no longer feel speedy but generally a bit less fatigued. Sleeping better too. I have had attacks of the lazies and had a few siestas.
Some of the symptoms have abated too, less itchy, a bit more clear-headed and less muscle pain. Not profound changes but noticeable.
It's good reading of everyone's successes here and hopefully I'm close too.

Melbourne, AustraliaI’m not saying it’s bad for you as the monoi is just infused in the coconut oil and would be very low concentration. What I am saying is that it is a very expensive way to buy sweet smelling coconut oil.

Melbourne, AustraliaSorry I’m not a lady but I’ll post here anyway as dry skin is non gender specific. That Elemis oil seems to be a very expensive coconut oil plus monoi which has methyl salicylate as its active ingredient. You may want to read up on methyl salicylate ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methyl_salicylate ). It is a toxic ester of salicylic acid (aspirin), and a suspected carcinogen.
I use a marvellous Chinese oil called White Flower which is mainly wintergreen oil, which also has methyl salicylate as its active ingredient, as a rub-on treatment for headache, sinus blockage and muscle pain and is very effective. Ingredients: Wintergreen 40%, Menthol 15% and Camphor 6%. Inactive ingredients: Eucalyptus 18%, Peppermint 15% and Lavender 6%. Because of methyl salicylate’s toxicity I use it sparingly and very occasionally.
So I would suggest using pure coconut oil instead maybe with a drop of fragrant essence. Or even a drop of White Flower although the menthol smell may not be what you want in your hair.

Interesting question, I had to look it up. Apparently mosquitoes only suck blood, not inject it. Viruses spread from the saliva they use for lubrication.
