Update: Qualitative test being performed this week in my area. Both Doc’s ( GP2U Doc & Gastro Doc here) believe I’m undetected but this will make it 100%. If I’m detected I’ll continue therapy for another 12 weeks, if I’m UND were good to go.
I will update as soon as I know,
    In good health my friends

Here is the letter below, just came yesterday.

So I am not unhappy, in fact I am very happy to feel the way I do! But why don’t they have consistently in HCV testing? I live not far from a big city and is this test the best they can do? Now I’m not expert but from what I read they use a qualitative test to confirm Zero virus, correct? So are they not telling me the truth?
So wouldn’t I want to continue on with treatment if I was qualitative detected? Maybe someone can chime in here and help me see the light or let me know if I should demand a qualitative test or ?
    Thx

    Hi

So sorry for the delay in replying to your email.

To explain a little on the HCV PCR quant results. The test is sensitive down to a quantity of 15. This means that if there are less than 15 virus in your blood the test would not be able to detect that. This test is more sensitive than any other test available to us. This means that the results are listed as <15 IU/mL meaning there was no virus detected but they can't rule out the possibility that there may be fewer than 15 virus still there. This is why we wait 3 months after you have completed treatment to check the viral level. If there are any virus still there it will start reproducing as soon as the medication is stopped and by 3 months it will have reproduced enough to be well above 15 and would then be detected by this lab. There is no test available to us that can confirm ZERO virus.

    Fitz,Matt,Fara, Gaj,London G, Ariel …..et al….,wow I have people in my corner, frign beautiful!
You know the world really is a great place and there are “more” good people here than bad, I feel I’ve met everyone one of them here, we’ll not really but it seems that way!
I’m 13 days away from EOT and it looks good from this view. The time I’ve had here is A huge milestone in my life, and in my wildest thoughts I had no idea this dude named Mike G would show up at the perfect time and tell me ” you’ll be HCV free by Summer’s end”. I must say he was right on. He had to be sent by Swedish Gods Thor & Odin and they protected his bounty of dragon slaying meds. Well again not really but it’s sounds great. So open your ears and hear my scream
    O D I N !! O D I N! Set me Free! :)

Now, we have some numbers that illustrate just how big Gilead’s discounts are–and how its U.S. hep C prices after those discounts compare with similar figures overseas.

So are you paying the discount price of $50,000.00++ or going with GP2U Trials for $49,000 less money and same results? Big decision.

Over the last 11 months I’ve noticed there really doesn’t seem much consistency in the way different labs and doctors report these results.

But being told “undetected” twice by the doctor is the real deal. Happy for you Sven! :+1: Happy for you Sven! :+1:

To all, first thank you for the huge display of encouragement! Thank you!
I agree with you about testing consistency, its like each has their own way of doing it. On my testing why couldnt they have just said 15iu/ml undetected or UND? Instead they have more patient verbal contact with us asking, what is it? Oh well, Im very happy to be where I am.
I said 3 months ago I thought I was going to go just like all my brothers and really I was resigned to do so. I thought it is what it is and there is nothing I can do. I sure as hell was not going to give GS $100k to do the program! (my wife would need it more down the road if I wasnT here). But now I’m on my way to hopefully SVR , I’ll take those odds any day.

Twice I asked, twice they said undetected . I find it strange, but he said if it was detected it would say <15iu detected. I asked why it doesn't say undetected and he said, isn't that obvious. The conversation was very short, but as cordial as I could be after all the delays. Hey maybe Tim was right....he could have been busy for 3 weeks. :)
Thank you all, I am very grateful to be defined undetected as less than 3 months ago there was no hope of me getting any medication and my viral load was in the millions!

Thank you all for the explanation of the read out.
I will connect with them tomorrow and request an explanation of why the words undetectable were used? It is confusing to hear that and then research what the actual <15 means, which is still present but unquantifiable., dead or alive.

IMO, a determination should be 100% reflective of the tests being taken rather than conjecture that could be different from doctors office to doctors office. With that being said I could be incorrect there as well.
But, All in all I'm happy with my scores both on liver tests and the <15. I'll relay new information tomorrow afternoon/evening.

Yes confusing. My doctor tells me I’m undetected, yet it shows <15, not so sure now.
Very interesting. Though I must admit I would rather have a <15 than X hundreds of thousands or millions. So we'll wait and see, I'm feeling very good though as well.

I don’t know why my doctor would say undetected when it s really <15, which is detected but at the least levels from what I have read.

Maybe an animation limited edition? You can have your artist make an original cel proof, then make actual hand painted limited editions animation cels. Total edition= 250, 30 artist proofs and then 220 LE’s. Just like they did in Hanna Barbera or Fritz Freeleng cartoons. It can help finance your clinic to help those whom can’t pay or are only able to pay 1/2 or?
It could be a real hit and I would buy one!
It is just a thought, cool drawing!
