    Hi Frankiej,

I’m a Brit. I spent several months scanning Hep-c forums in search of a treatment. I never bothered to register on any of them becausethey all operated on the basis of “we’ll support you while you wait in line…”

And believe me, I am an expert in reading about “exciting times” and “great progress coming soon” and “informed decisions” and “patient consultation” and all a whole bunch of other ineffectual Good-Speak like that from the NHS. But the bottom line is still “wait in line”…

FixHepC is different. It works on the basis of “we”ll support you while you get your treatment…”

The founder’s principle is “Nothing is Impossible – Lets Treat Everyone, Everywhere. With No-one Left Behind.”

    http://fixhepc.com/blog/item/35-nothing-is-impossible-everyone-everywhere.html

This site is real. Warts-and-all. There is too much info here and too many people like me from around the world reporting success stories for it not to be real…

Tell your Dr. Tell your friends. Talk about it on your old forums!

There was once a young guy who volunteered to serve his country.

And then there was one who got drafted.

And then another who stay up late at night listening to music with his friends.

And then another become a rock star.

And then there was the one who needed a filling in his tooth.

And then there was one whose Mom was sick.

And then there was one who put “I Love You” on his arm.

And then there was one do didn’t do anything.

    They all got hepatitis C.

    What’s the difference?

Here is section 3.16 from the minutes of the PTAC meeting in May (http://www.pharmac.health.nz/assets/ptac-minutes-2015-05.pdf):

    3.16

The Committee noted that the supplier’s submission proposed funding for all chronic hepatitis C patients in New Zealand. Members considered that the pricing proposed in the application would have a very significant fiscal impact and that the supplier had made no attempt to address this fiscal risk.

In other words, back in 2015, Gilead proposed to treat everyone in NZ, but their quote was for an arm and a leg. After the Australian deal, maybe they will drop their price in 2016, but you can be sure they wont be doing anyone any favours…

    Hold on there, Mike.

The “anthem” criteria say approval for application for treatment may be approved if (I) over 18 etc … AND (V) has compensated or decompensated liver disease AND (VII) is not taking drugs or alcohol AND (VIII) patient is already on a ribavarin treatment…

Also, there seems to be a missing clause (VI) which is probably of the form “AND if we can think of any other reason not to approve treatment”

Looks to me like Anthem is a health insurance company that noone with Hep C would ever want to touch with a barge pole!

… I think you meant to say: “Hopefully the other PBMs will bin these ridiculous pre-conditions and follow the Australian model.”

    Just my two cents…

    Hi James,

May I suggest adding links to “Pharma Market” and “Fraudulent Suppliers” sections to the top level “GETTING TREATED” menu ?

There is now a vast amount of useful information in the Forum, but seems not so easy to find for people who are just getting started…

    Cheers,

Ok, party-people, this one (Brian Eno and Phil Manzanera at their best) is for those of you who are still there at 4am. You have to let it build up on you, but if you’re still there at 4.46am, I guarantee you will be blown away.
