I got my meds today! What a relief. Heartfelt thanks to Mike, Greedfighter, and 2b for your guidance, support and the kick that I needed to get going.Dr James your brilliance is only surpassed by you compassion to help all of us in need. Tim at Monkmed was wonderful and kept me informed. I could go on and on , my heart is full of gratitude. As for that Dr. To follow me, they are still elusive,I will sort that out later!

Just go to a doctor after 4 or 6 weeks and ask for Viral load and Liver panel test. Why tell them you are taking generics? They did not prescribe them, and may be reluctant to become involved in your treatment for fear of a lawsuit. Just get the tests…..you are on you way to your cure!

From Ariel27 April 2016 at 5:47 am #16242Hi Defeat. Some of us are on the tail end of our journey, others, like you, just the beginning, I had virtually no side effects from Sof/Led other than a bit of insomnia. Good luck with your treatment, you are in good hands.
YMMV
27 April 2016 at 6:29 am #16244Hi Defeat
Good luck in your journey to restored health.
I started on Harvoni (non generic, one of the first on the PBS drug) on 18 March and have no negative Sx although I have been feeling a bit tired the past few days. Possibly overdoing it a tad with the new found energy, or maybe a build-up of the drug. The other changes have been more subtle but all positive. A persistent toenail fungus has disappeared. Brain is sharper. I’m swimming faster. Body perceptions in Yoga practice have definitely changed. Food preferences have also changed.
You will be amazed by how unwell you have been feeling and maybe not realised in comparison to your new altered state.
Although I may not be a direct recipient of Dr Freeman’s compassion and persistence (and I knowthis is open for discussion), I am extremely grateful with the way his great workhas impacted the HCV landscape

Cured baby29 April 2016 at 2:12 am #16314Thanks Beaches I am so looking forward to that day. My family used to reference me as a human doing not a human being, not so much the last few years. How freeing my mind will become when I no longer have to limit joyful activities, if I go for that 5 mile hike how long will it wipe me out? It certainly will be a joyful day when I can replace the word chronic with cured!

I have just come to the end of 24 weeks treatment and for me it has been all good. Very few side effects and much improvement in thought clarity, physical energy and general mood. Although there was a continuous improvement very early on I still think I can pin point a noticeable improvement around 10/11 weeks.
Love your term “human doing”!

isaing4@gmail.com30 April 2016 at 6:15 pm #16442Happy for you. Did one of us “rescue” you from She Who Will Not Be Named?? I’ve lost track which is great!! Too many names and stories to keep straight. A very pleasing feeling. I want to be more confused……
Your enzymes and v/l are about to take a huge nosedive. I don’t know your doc situation, but it seems like anyone who swore to “do no harm” would have a hard time looking in a mirror if you simply asked to have some blood tests done and they refused to order them.

7/07/16 UND SVR 243 June 2016 at 1:37 am #18276I started tx on May 5Th. Just received my 2 week lab work. Alt is 25, Ast 24 and my viral load. drum roll please, 27. Yes that is 27 no 00000. Woot Woot! That Dr. that finally agreed to follow me is insisant that I have blood work q 2 weeks so I will be posting often. I am hopeful that he will start believing in generics, and will be on board to help others in this manner. So thankful to all that have offered support and words of encouragement. Oh and no sides except the first couple of days, just tired and a little spacey in the morning. I have more energy, and the brain fog is lifting. Yeah!
