Congratulations to all involved in the study, which is sure to have a big impact. Now anyone trying to get a doctor to support a prescription or monitoring can point to these results. And it will be cited again and again in price negotiations. Well done!

Such a good day with the news of James and others research on generic DAA's, Ive been looking round on the Twitter feed and there is an enormous amount of support.

Here are some really cool pics of James and Andrew Hill enjoying some outdoor activities with a number of different Hep C activist groups.

Thanks for the link Johnboy, excellent article.

From another press release:

"Our interim data suggests a potential solution for Hepatitis C patients in areas where treatment access has been restricted as a result of the high prices demanded for branded treatment," said Dr James Freeman, of GP2U Telehealth, Hobart, Australia and lead author of the study. "At the price level of generic direct-acting antivirals, treating the entire global Hepatitis C epidemic could be financially feasible. Furthermore, if a patient is cured of Hepatitis C, there is evidence for improved survival, and lower risks of liver cancer and liver cirrhosis and cured patients could return to work, delivering further economic benefits to society."

Congratulations to our team presenting at EASL Barcelona 2016. You have openly contributed to addressing a gap regarding accessing affordable meds. By broadcasting knowledge of generic treatment for hepc on the international stage you will save many more lives. #love

This is amazing and awesome. :) I read with real delight any reviews and information flow ons associated with your presentation. James, you have repeatedly said that DAA's should be available to everyone. Your data provides verification and maybe the world will listen now. #flower

Thankyou for all the links James and other friends
Reading them all taught me even more useful information. Thanks for the photos to put an environment to the written words.
Some not so pleasant data of course but the overall stats are in our favour
Go us, the generic pioneers of this "challenged" game of life. I'm proud I bought my meds and lucky I could afford the FixHepC prices which are extremely reasonable and sane. To be UND so early was a major release after a long and nasty tx journey prior.
This data is so well presented and I love data. I am so into real percentages and stats not into anything else at this stage of the game.
The global number of carriers is so huge. It's madness not to release the meds.
Thankyou again to James and Greg for all you have and do for us.
Happy travels
I'm sure only good can come from this

Short video with the doc, and report from a North American correspondent:

BARCELONA -- Many people with hepatitis C (HCV) might be able to make an end run around the high prices for the new direct-acting medications by turning to low-cost generics, a physician said here.

Lots of news reports in Spanish too.

I googled Dr. Freeman, and found this news article :cheer:

You look very young and smart in this photo :P

congratulation on the great presentation

I was so touched by your last words "Let’s deploy them and wipe Hepatitis C off the face of the planet, just like we’ve done with smallpox and polio."

You made a progress for human-being !!
