Sending love to all who have seen this place too10 April 2016 at 3:53 am #15155Hi Ariel, sorry you are feeling anxious….. It is an anxious time for us EOT ers.
I’m feeling tired also, and the odd little liver twinge…the mind works overtime……
I wonder if the fatigue is due to the fact we have had these powerful meds in our systems, and they are still not gone for a little while yet? I have read some people saying they are feeling tired at EOT, so there is consolation in that it’s not unusual…..
Sending good wishes to you Ariel, hope you feel better soon….
Deb X10 April 2016 at 4:06 am #15156Hi Ariel,
Remember how far you’ve come over the last few months.Calmer, more relaxed, better weight, better skin, more focussed surfing and I suspect, an increased sense of fun and the joy of life. Your LFTs show a very healthy liver with no signs of fibrosis. You lead a very healthy lifestyle in a beautiful and largely pollution free part of the world, while abstaining from the little vices. All these things point to a much better than the odds likelihood of SVR.
…..and in the very tiny chance that there is a problem, as Dr James says, there are plenty of options and you will be starting from a far better place than previously.
So relax, go and have a good surf and focus on all the marvellous things that have happened this year. Your SVR will take care of itself.

actually, forget that idea. I asked in the original thread about the fund if it was still happening and Dr James said no

Cured baby10 April 2016 at 10:48 am #15175Hello there Ariel -I’ve been thinking of you
I can really understand the anxiety. I am not looking forward to that period myself, (well I am and I’m not !) but if you have been there before it must bring back some very stressful memories Ariel. Remember, that was a different drug and a totally different experience. Also thinking of you Debs . Poor dt had failed twice pre the new meds, must be hellish.I think it’s totally understandable that at EOT we will feel tired ( and anxious) and Ive read many have experienced ‘liver twinges’ that cause anxiety – These are strong meds and it’ makes total sense our bodies need to adjust on stopping them , as they did when we started them, you know?
Easy to say but hard to do, but try to do some things you really enjoy/ it’s good for the spirit and therefore the body. As Dr D from MonkMed said “there ‘is something’ to be said for your own immune system” …You are both UND remember? so eat well, rest well and ..play well too (but I don’t suggest eating Mars bars ha ha ).I hope my lovely treatment friends are still around for me end June when I am in the same situation and trying to avoid the same anxiety, remember I am only <12 unq - such a slow coach ! Another online treatment friend booked a holiday to Costa Rica for 3 weeks and walked through rain forests etc - Unfortunately for us in the UK it's still freezing, (will spring ever come)? so walking here is still a chilly affair and you can forget swimming in English waters at almost any time of the year! it's good you can get in that surf Ariel - you always seem so cheered after a surf - so go get those flippers out ! Mother nature seems to be quietly calming in these situations. (Canary islands Debs? )
I guess there is no real easy way to help distract and we are 'so‘ i the habit of waiting and worrying and waiting again with this attacker of our bodies and souls. However, as Gaj says, you have come such a long way, are UND and have been for some time with much better medicines So be kind to yourselves and your immune system as much as you can, this is your final big wait. I send BIG and hugs and warm wishes to you both.
ps amused my liver is becoming rather ‘famous’

.forever grateful to fixhepc10 April 2016 at 11:14 am #15179Thank SOOOOO much for the props everyone, Pat1, Debs, Gaj, Beaches. LG (hope I haven’t missed anyone) and those who pass by and read our stories as we try to tell the World here, by our blogging our tx experiences, how we are kicking the butt of this ridiculously annoying dragon. We truly are.
I did distract myself good advice Gaj, I went surfing for two or three hours actually in a small shorey…shorebreak with a screaming pack of kooks (learner surfers) which was a great plan to wind up on my my butt literally on the sand because a girl went out of control and banged into me as we headed to the shore; it was funny because someone filmed it and I have made a little film of me waving my hand at them to NOT FILM haha I look ropable !
I certainly think any games that take the mind off the EOT-SVR are good games. I have arranged to meet a couple of guys I surf with a lot tomorrow we will hit up some decent sized stuff because there will be no crowds.
I do like fundraising Beaches. I have been a keen fundraiser for a tiny Fijian orphanage for eons.
I’m sure those T-shirts would sell too and it has crossed my mid we could donate al the profit to helping Vets or whoever is needy. Pity we can’t do that type of charity work within the Club but we can always do our private bit. We need to ask LG’s liver for copyrights, and LG, is your liver in conversation at present or in meditational respite. Think of the paparazzi attention it will get!
Well I clearly have good friends here to buoy mermaid missy through the next 3 weeks to SVR 4. I’ve said it b4, you all RAWK. THANKS DUDES10 April 2016 at 3:25 pm #15182Hey Ariel, glad to read you are feeling more upbeat, those waves must be so therapeutic for you, sounds lovely! Also all the support here, such good advice also. I couldn’t see your profile when typing, but had a feeling you were f0 -1. So as GAJ said with your healthy lifestyle you must be up there percentages wise.
We have a bit of surfing where I live Ariel, We even have a surf caff! I have had my latte made by an Australian guy before…..It is a beautiful coastline. I must post some pics sometime. I don’t think the waves are normally that big though. It’s been pretty calm recently when I’ve been walking my doggy.
LG, hols in the Canaries, nice idea! It crossed my mind but the little mutt is quite tieing and I couldnt put her in kennels. Have you ever tried the west coast of Scotland? It is warmed by the Gulf Stream and you can swim in the sea apparently! My friends family are always up there camping, she loves it, meant to be beautiful.
Anyway, back to Ariel, so glad you are feeling so much better!
Lots of , Debs X
13 April 2016 at 5:07 am #15376Over a week into EOT and I have booked a GP appointment
In the meantime I am listening to this chappie from Oz. I think of HCV as “somebody that I used to know” and it’s getting me wired better.
May HCV be somebody that we ALL used to know!!!13 April 2016 at 7:24 am #15380Hah, you name dropper!
I must admit that with three weeks to EOT I am feeling some apprehension myself and I suspect that will increase once I’m waiting for SVR results.
And with HCV it’s not always easy to find someone to share those fears and doubts with. We need to find ways to cope with the uncertainty as we move on from the disfunctional relationship we had with the virus for so long. I’m sure your GP will make some useful suggestions.
