Called the hospital to hear my virus numbers. The nurse told me to my great surprise that my virus was 0 – no virus, I was just about to lose my phone and did not believe it so I asked again, got the same answer, asked her to send the answer to me, I will see it black on white.
That this could happen in just 30 days of treatment are incredible, I do not understand it when I know how many I know who got many side effects of the “old” treatment. I feel grateful, is still not gone up for me – to this day – is a new beginning the rest of my life without hepatitis C.
I feel happiness and joy, can not stop smiling.
Has agreed with the doctors at the hospital that I continue the past 54 pills, so I take the last pill April 12, 2017.
Love and hugs to you all from Denmark
Gert

It is wonderful news that you are “undetected” at 30 days!
That is very promising and shows you are responding well to treatment but as your hospital says, it is important that you complete the full course of medicine to make sure that the virus is completely gone. The reason for this is that in the test they did they could not see any virus but there is a possibly that there are still very, very tiny quantities below the limits of the test. Even the best tests in the world at the moment cannot see levels of less than about 3 – 5 iu/ml. You can read about this in more detail if you wish in the Experts Corner/Viral Load and SVR section of the forum but here is a link to something Dr Freeman wrote on the subject:
https://fixhepc.com/forum/viral-load-and-svr/689-how-can-the-virus-reappear-after-und.html#10744
But you have good reasons to be smiling.

18 February 2017 at 10:46 am #25345Hello Gert,
That’s great news and I’m happy for you. You can see that a life free of this nasty problem is possible and actually very likely. Well done for taking responsibility for your own health and making something happen.
I think that’s so important for all of us. Just the idea of taking back control or maintaining it is empowering. Doing it is even better.
Public health care systems are fantastic but can have an unfortunate side effect which is that people can begin to think that their health is mainly the concern of other people and therefore do little to help themselves. I am not saying this applies to anyone who has recently posted and certainly not to you but it needs to be said anyway.
This is because thinking like a victim is bad for your health whether psychological or physical. In the end there may not be much difference between these two because the mind informs the body and the reverse is also true. Here’s a curious fact, known to most on this forum: Hepc is strongly associated with depression and anxiety. Now what do we think that is all about? One thing we can say with certainty is that if either of these mental states leads to self neglect the result will not be good….
A guy called Bernie Siegel, who is or was a doctor wrote a great book called “Love, medicine and miracles”. It is good reading and shows, among other things, that a positive attitude coupled with visualisation techniques can lead to better patient outcomes in conventional medicine. He wasn’t being airy fairy or even alternative.
Have a good day everyone,
RSF

18 February 2017 at 11:13 am #25346Hello Gaj
Thank you carried your information was good, I had no knowledge of this.
Therefore “corrected” virus number from 0 to undetected.
I asked the doctor if I could “only” eight weeks, she said she just wanted me to take all 12 weeks since I had bought drugs for 12 weeks.
Strangely she did not tell me, what you just told me, and it makes much sense to continue treatment when we get the knowledge.Experience and knowledge is sought:
I was thinking I have a buddy who was told he had cured himself in 2008. Are there any experiences with their hepatitis return, he had a lot of possible side effects that can come from living with hepatitis C – I asked him to take a blood test as soon as possible. Thanks to all who here the first month that supported me with experience, knowledge and hope for a better life without hepatitis C – to have made a difference to my life
Love and hugs to everyone from Denmark

I am not a doctor but here are my thoughts on your questions.
For your buddy,
20 – 30% of people who get HCV manage to clear it themselves usually within the first few months with only their own immune system and do not require medication (they will always carry the antibodies but will be undetected in a viral load test) and hopefully your friend is one of those.
But depending when he was tested there is a small possibility that his immune system had not fully cleared the virus. If you say he has symptoms similar to HCV then for his (and your) ease of mind it may be wise for him to retest for viral load now. If the test is undetected after so long then he did clear it himself and does not need to worry about the virus but if it has returned then you will be able to help him to get medication.
For you,
You should test at 12 weeks after you finish treatment which is the official confirmation of SVR. That will give you 99% probability that the virus is gone for ever. Some of us like to retest again at 24 weeks or more after finishing. That one will give 99.9% probability of SVR. Here is Dr Freeman’s explanation:

22 February 2017 at 4:14 am #25380Hi Gert,
Just catching up with your fantastic news. Well done! People have provided lots of good advice here about making sure that you finish all of the treatment etc.
My oldest son also has Hep C antibodies but is undetected so at some stage he cleared it himself. Like Gaj mentioned I know that if at some stage it is detected we can get access to medication.
Looking forward to hearing about your next results.

22 February 2017 at 10:41 am #25384Day 35 – five weeks in treatment d. February 22, 2017.
Ends treatment April 12, 20175 days ago I was told that the virus undetected – so the last 5 days of my new life without HepC virus – a wonderful feeling to have the knowledge that the generic drugs I bought from India had the desired effect, that it came so fast I had not counted on.
What has surprised me a lot, they are very few side effects I’ve had in the 35 days it has been important for me- I take medication the same time every day, drink lots of water, sleep when I’m tired also during the day.Important also has been for me to listen / read other people’s experiences with HepC, so the feeling I am not alone disappears and there is hope – FixHepC has been helpsom like me with this. – So a big thank you to all of you who write on FixHepC and of course a thank you from my heart to all who have written here for me.
Thanks to generic drugs and the companies that sell them at reasonable prices for us when our liver is not “bad enough” to get treatment
Hope this happens a day in the near future
– Treatment is free and available to all who have HepCWant to wish you all a wonderful day
Love and hugs from Denmark

Tomorrow, half way through the treatment. The last 6 days I have had a few days where I’ve been tired for several hours each day.
Is nice to think of tomorrow I are halfway with treatment
.
Clearly label the medicine continue “working” in my body even though the virus is not detected anymore. It seems that my blood circulation has improved a lot, got color in his face that I had for years.
It is the best I have done for myself
– Buy HepC medicine and even taken responsibility for my health.– To have it so much better in such a short time, I had not thought when I started the treatment, even though I read about it here on FixHepC
It is beyond my wildest dreams
Wish you all a very good day

I also still very tired sometimes, but less headache and another small quantity of 23 pills to go for. I feel the medicine still cleans up the body and the liver I can feel to. I think maybe for the reason that the liver can start to repair itself after 30 years of infection of HepC…must be a nice feeling for the organ, like x-mas
I still very happy about the way it could take finding a medicament and go for a healing
Keep you posted and all the best for all of you
kind regards & hugs, Denis
