Hi All,
There seems to be quite a bit of confusion about who can ship what to where. These affordable drugs need to be doing the travelling, not the patients. For many, the cost of travel is now the biggest factor.
This topic can be a spot where import problems and solutions can be discussed.
The biggest problem I see now in the U.S. is simply getting someone to ship quality, proven meds. Customs clearance doesn’t appear to be an issue.

This will help those who can’t access the buyers club services due to no Australian delivery address or travel ability.
Sounds like maybe It should go in the “Pharma’s Market” section?G
Or attached to it or maybe just pinned where it is so it is easy to find?

9 December 2015 at 5:08 pm #5700Hi Paul,
Would need to check legalities of something like that.
My thoughts were more along the lines of us hosting two lots of data:
1. List of countries with their customs rules and likelihood of meds getting through.
2. “Pharma’s Market” listed reputable suppliers like Julphar who could list which countries they were able to ship to.
Then someone from country xyz could look up whether their customs was likely to let shipments through and what documentation was needed and then find a supplier who could ship to country xyz. They could then directly negotiate with that company to supply an order. Obviously no Buyers Club involvement so no laws broken and all care but no responsibility on forum’s part. Although issues with a supplier would result in them being removed from the Pharma’s Market area.

9 December 2015 at 6:42 pm #5704This appears to be the situation in the U.S. at the moment:
1. Customs is not interested in detaining medications, especially doctor prescribed, life-saving medication that is unaffordable in the U.S.
2. FedEx basically preclears everything shipped using their service before it leaves the origin country. If it doesn’t clear,it goes back to the shipper. The shipper can then refund the buyer. Other shippers probably do the same.
3. The FDA doesn’t appear to be willing to intercede either at this point concerning these particular medications. Both Customs and the FDA are part of the executive branch. Right now, it looks like their next boss will probably be Hillary Clinton, who has gone on record as saying she intends to deal with pharmaceutical price gouging.
4. The Republicans are against more government regulation and interference in peoples’ lives.
5. The Democrats believe in accessible, affordable health care for all.I think if medicine were being detained at the border, we would be hearing about it. If a person has their meds detained, I think a letter from their doctor and a prescription would quickly get them undetained. Gilead is not very popular anywhere right now. Their money spends, but it is viewed as “blood money” by many in power.
The pipeline is open. We need to start using it. If someone tries to shut it down, we all need to scream bloody murder.

7/07/16 UND SVR 2413 December 2015 at 7:38 pm #6175Paul, you could ship to someone outside the US, it would fall into a very grey area.
Longer term,it makes sense if its shipped from its country of source direct to the US.
I’ve spend some time looking at this I may go ahead and set up a process for shipping directly to the
US.

All liver functions in normal ranges.13 December 2015 at 7:48 pm #6176I think that is a good idea. I have heard from a good source that a 90 day supply of medication shipped directly to a person who has a prescription for that medication will not be detained. If it was detained, they would probably release it to the prescription holder.
I don’t know this for certain.

27 December 2015 at 6:30 pm #7382Hi, I’m new here. Genotype 1a for over 40 yrs. Good diet, lots of water and sleep have kept me going.
I recently procured some generic Harvoni. My contact said he cannot find a courier that will ship meds
from India to USA. My readings say otherwise. Two questions: 1) Can DHL or Fed X send packages
from individuals to USA with description contents as “Medical Supplements” or something similar.
2) If not, will description of “Jewelry” be illegal? The onus will be on me as the recipient. I do not mind. I’ll take of it. My contact is leaving India on Monday
December 28. Thanks in advance. Your forum has been very helpful.

SVR2427 December 2015 at 6:43 pm #7383Hi,
DHL or Fed Ex either one. Make sure the waybill is clearly labeled as to the contents, all the appropriate MSDS forms are completed and “life-saving” medicines is listed. Either shipper will know what needs to be filled out to make sure the package gets to you.
It may beat you home!
E mail (see below) if you have more questions.
Glad for you!

SVR2428 December 2015 at 8:59 pm #7462I have a question:
Someone I know has his meds in a friends possession in the UK and wants them sent to the U.S. He has no prescription and can’t fly there and pick them up.
What should he do?
Thanks,
