Hello, I am new here. I am not too sure of exactly what all of this is. I am in America and I need treatment for genotype 1A. I have had chronic hepatitis c for under a year and I am a very young woman. I am trying to get treatment as soon as possible so that I can live the life I deserve to.
2 December 2015 at 12:33 pm #5041You are in the right place for advice, it is a genuine site to help cure Hep C. For an ASAP cure, read everything on here about getting treated and plan a trip to Australia to pick up your meds. If you have never treated before the meds cost A$2300 approx. This site runs a Buyers Club which I used and there are also chemists offering the required meds for the same price. Other people have couriered to the US but this has suddenly become harder.

Treating for the first time since October 31 with Buyers Club Sof/Led. Thanks so much guys. Minimal side effects apart from sore throat at the start..

Yay!2 December 2015 at 12:51 pm #5043Hi, From what I’ve read the US customs don’t like to seize medications for personnel use but there seems to be no definitive policy?, there are people on this forum who have imported mesochem API DAA’s from China to the US and I’m sure as soon as one of these guys reads your post they’ll be able to offer some good advice if you chose to import yourself, of course testing these powders would be expensive but mesochem is a pretty reliable outfit, or you could fly to Australia have the medications tested and encapsulated start treatment for a couple days then fly home with your meds, a more expensive option to be sure, but reliable, the good news is you’ve got time to decide.
Best of luck to you

What Chapel & crazy8 said – you have a couple of choices re generic treatment. US members here have imported successfully (though as pointed out this may have recently become more complicated) or you can take a brief trip down under. Many of us have been living with the virus for decades so there’s time to sort out your options. Check out the posts here and feel free to ask questions. Best of luck.

ALT 263 December 2015 at 9:39 am #5147Hi Cassady: I’m one of the guys who just went to Australia from US and came home with it. Before I decided to do that, I was looking into having it mailed, which may be possible through fixhep c or Greg Jeffreys (keep reading and you’ll learn about him too, very nice, very helpful). I think the new difficulties folks are talking about is just directly importing it from the factory in china, which factory I hear doesn’t want to do it anymore. That doesn’t necessarily mean that you still couldn’t do it the way I was looking at before, but for that you need a prescription from an Australian doctor (easily done with a consult thru gp2u), and preferably a generic prescription from a US Dr to be included with your package, and some other stuff Greg Jeffreys was telling me about.
I had most of that stuff together, including a generic script from my US doctor but then i just got impatient and decided to just go and get it and see what it was like to walk upside down on the bottom of the planet. I managed to hang on.
I would suggest talk with Dr. Freeman and/or Greg Jeffreys about getting it mailed to here if you want to go that route. At one point also I know some folks were talking about trying to set up a pick up place in mexico or bahamas for us US folks, but I never heard anything come of that—but it would be a real good idea. Bahamas for those on the East Coast, Mexico for those down south and west….maybe somewhere in Canada for the rest of us up in the tundra. Good luck to you, get well soon.

Always nice to hear from the US. If you want to, please feel free to start a thread to post about how you found the site and also how you sourced your medications. I’m sure there will be many of your fellow Americans who are interested to hear you and your husband’s experiences to help them understand the process better.

This is from another post on the Importation into the U.S. Topic:
(Lots of great info there)
February 2016The situation continues to favorable for importation of quality, affordable HCV medications into the United States.
Several options are available. All require a prescription. You can get that from GP2U.com. Get your lab results scanned and ready to send before your appointment.
(Genotype, viral load, CMP, CBC)
Your PCP or specialist can order those and give you a copy. Scan them and your U.S. Prescription if you have one.Option 1: Join the REDEMPTION clinical trials. GP2U can assist you in that regard.
Option 2: Contact a legitimate supplier directly. Incepta seems to be the simplest as far as paperwork is concerned. Email curehcvnow@gmail.com for specific contact information. Also, Mesochem has eased their selling restrictions AND lowered their prices. Around $900, I hear, for 12 weeks of sof & led.
rachel@mesochem.com.Option 3: Become a “medical tourist” This is the most expensive option both in time and money, but still pennies on the dollar compared to the cost of branded U.S. Treatments.
Option 4: Fight your insurance company for coverage. Restrictions are easing, but time and effort is still required to negotiate the process. In all likelihood, you could be “cured” by generics before ever being approved for coverage by your insurer.
In my opinion, it has never been easier or cheaper to import these life saving medicines into the U.S. than now.
Mike

If you have not done so, listen to Mike and email curehcvnow@gmail.com. If you get an RX at GP2U.com, you can get Twinvir (generic Harvoni) or learn about other options. I got Twinvir shipped to USA no problem with Mike’s help
19 February 2016 at 3:44 pm #12258Hi.
I’m in the US, too. I’m one of the lucky people here whose insurance approved meds but who knows what will happen next – if I need more treatment, they might not. I also heard from my doctor that my insurance copays are going way up to 29% of medication cost. Are there still options so we can import drug from abroad? I heard that there s a problem with India – Gilead is trying to shut dwn export of Twinvir. Is that true?
Thanks.

I’m glad you got approved and I’m glad you found us.
I got two emails this morning about successful importation of Twinvir.
Email for the particulars.
No, there is no problem getting it into the U.S.
Total cost for 12 weeks: $1000.

20 February 2016 at 5:48 pm #12339The thing is, I’m now down to 2 more weeks of treatment. Then I have the post treatment labs, then 12 week labs. Would starting daclatasavir change the test results? I don’t think I could bear to think I was at SVR and then have it come back.
I talked to my doctor’s office about what to do if treatment fails (I’m at stage 4 so I don’t think my chances are that good). She said they would wait for a new pan genotypic med to be approved later in the year. I don’t knòw if it is an entirely new medication of a combination of the other ones. (for all I know, it’s sovosbuvir with daclatasavir).
If not – I was wondering about doing another course of treatment and using generics (while we can still import them into the US, before greedy Gilead shuts us down completely). I would need to find out from Dr Freeman about doing it, for example, how long to wait between treatments, and whether to use all three drugs: sovosbuvir, daclatasavir and ribavirin.
