Xxxxx28 January 2016 at 12:23 pm #10656Cindi that is amazing……J’s treatment finishing soon…and a 16th birthday to celebrate! So glad everything has gone so smoothly and he is at School ready to tackle Year 11……..look forward to seeing his final results.
Dr Freeman advised me of the following “At 4 weeks post treatment UND means a 96% chance of absolute cure, and at 12 weeks UND means 99%”. Hope this helps your query.
Best wishes to you both.
YMMV
28 January 2016 at 1:00 pm #10661Hi Cindi,
Happy Birthday to J and well done you! I remember when J was starting out on his treatment. It’s still hard to believe that people shoot out the other end so quickly and so undetected! Wishing you the very best results for his 16th.

7/07/16 UND SVR 249 February 2016 at 12:16 pm #11619Just wanted to update.
J has finished his 12 week tx, and was tested & UD, which I thought he would be but nice to see anyway.
Now the wait for the “big one” post tx 4 week VL.
He’s doing really well & very happy.
He today had to see his dermatologist, who works with his old liver specialist.
She asked how’s J’s health going, & I told her how he is virus free & she was so happy for him, but her smile seemed to fade a little when I told her it was from “generics”.
I expected that reaction, most specialists just don’t know enough about them I guess. But she may not completely believe, me I think, because she’s insisted that he has a LFT test tomorrow.
….What a waist of time, oh well, I guess she’ll see his good ALT & AST & see for herself.Anyway, we will keep posting his results.
And I’ll still be hanging around to cheer everyone onThanks to all for the wonderful support. It just means the world to me to have a healthy child at last

9 February 2016 at 1:51 pm #11622Hi Cindi
so pleased for yourself and J – must be a huge weight off both your shoulders. As for the specialist J’s SVR and 4 week post treatment result will speak for themselves and you never know it may just be the thing to change their attitude toward generic’s.
At the end of the day so long as J and you are happy then that’s all the matters.

13 February 2016 at 4:29 am #11829Hi Cindi, it’s great that J is doing well , but a shame about the Dr’s reaction. Anyway, let the ‘doubters’ run the tests and see the results for themselves!
All the best to you both, it really must feel amazing to know your boy is virus-free and will not have to live with this. I’m so happy for you and your family

I hear you about the weird vibes eminating at the mention of generics I know a lot of us get the same rot. Just a control thing I think.
Silly when we have actually trailblazed these DAAs and actually provide a data cohort for free if they wanted to collect our responses to the DAAs isn’t it!
Looking forward to hearing of Js continued progress and wellness thanks for your posts Cindi and the support you give us here on tx
