One year ago
I was having lithotripsy, cytoscopy, scans, ultrasounds, sleeping every day, using any energy to go surfing and rebuild the thirty years of sport muscle that peginf nuked (well I fought hard against it), I was on OxyContin 10mg a day for pain, growing and living on green foods, my pile of lobbying letters was an inch thick, I had started writing songs in plea, I LEFT THE MAINSTREAM and followed my buddy Emilio from another place to FHC and despite having set up a trip to the UK to pay 45,000 pounds to Alcura for Sofosbuvir then discovered that I could access a miracle combo called Harvoni which Em was blogging. Well that second postponement in the Pipeline on Dec 1 was it for this lil duckie and I ordered my meds from here a leap of faith I can still recall the feeling of morphing from a lobbyist to becoming my own messiah in it all. The PBS came through, sure, but after being an imprint in my bed I was stoked more than any fish in my pond to be already UND by then and on my way.
The change was so profound.
So hard had I had to work to recover my hair skin muscle weight brain and blood work to regular stuff from peginf to that first fiery week on my MIRACLE GENERIC DAAs. No more do I need to flog myself no! The change was starting slowly but man has it a momentum.
Change is visually amazing, inner fortitude, cognitive change much to celebrate and now slipping more and more to a new person the real me who once had HCV but is now free.
Congratulations to all.
ArielTy Doc for the props

I’m just catching up after some domestic duties that were rather time consuming
Yes to the insomnia and general tiredness which by week ten shifted into overdrive with a very zooomy sensation even during the day. Emotions run up and down I found maybe the tiredness catches up plus the demands of single parenting or it’s just how it is. But the best thing is you are clear and just really “overtreating” and that’s how my DAA tx ran too
I’m here barracking for you to the finish line and I am sure there’s an occasional whinge in my blog re not sleeping etc haha!

A13 October 2016 at 12:06 am in reply to: After Succ. Hep C Tr. improvement of Blood Pressure is possible #23783Dear Murr
Thanks for sharing your views I agree stress is a factor as I am going through a serious issue in my own family actually so possibly that’s another influence.
I’m pretty sure my issues really got triggered by that old peginf riba tx
Like you I will be hoping for my bp to be normal again
There’s only so much we can write on any forum but yes stress is defs a factor but also my experience on Harvoni was real and I was not going through the added issue that I carry just now.
I wish you SVR12 and a successful outcome and thank you for writing back it is very kind of you

Hep C Tr. improvement of Blood Pressure is possible #23725Murr wrote:Blood Pressure – If Hepatitis C causes a significant amount of liver scarring, portal hypertension can develop. Blockage of the blood vessels due to liver damage inhibits blood flow through the liver and causes high pressure (portal hypertension)
After EOT is it possible this condition /hypertension/ to improve? Can anybody share personal experience on that topic?
It will be greatly appreciatedThanks for bringing up this topic Murr
BP is definitely one sx I had from peginf and it certainly rose during DAA tx but not as serious as on peginf
On peginf and post peginf it swung between 120/70 and 220/120. I was tested for Wenegers and various other issues but no, no underlying issue. I do extreme sport every week I am extremely fit. My heart rate is around 65.
I’m post SVR24.
My BP has recently gone up again and I am back on the meds that were recommended whilst on Generic Harvoni.
After one week on these meds my bp has dropped from 160/95 to 115/75.
Nothing else has changed in my lifestyle and I have been physically active including surfing for over five hours in one session.
I’m keeping an eye on my bp with my GP.
A home monitor was a great investment
I’m sure there are other stories about bp and we are all made differently.
I’m NOT in the business of scaring people but I wanted to be honest about bp and the continued stabilisation of same in my case.
The most important thing is that I feel fantastic I actually can’t believe how great it is now I am HCV free I keep thinking “is this what it’s like to really live!”
My message here is just a caution that yes I have to keep an eye on bp ever since peginf and it did pop up a bit on DAAs
It’s all a long process but worth it
Ariel
* note
I have had all scans etc including aorta and portalClaudel congrats on your UND that’s wonderful news and I am sure a morale boost with your heart issue. I wish you a speedy recovery from that hiccup in your life and good caring support for the duration of your tx with the heightened needs for your overall health
Sending love from Ariel
Get well soon Claudel xx -
