Sure Jolie it has given us treatment power, but these drugs do need expert advice. Please don’t do any drug combinations without expert advice. Drugs interact with each other. You could end up with organ failure if not following the experts. We do this is cause the drugs are far too expensive not the drug combinations are wrong. I am a 3 non responder with cirrhosis, a hard to treat category, even though desperate to clear this virus, I wouldn’t mix medicines. kindly

That’s great news Cindi, prays are with your boy. I had debilitating Hep A for months when I was young and bounced back physically. No special diets etc etc. Your health knowledge will keep him in good health. Many thanks to the Doc.

Hi miko3 nobody has to make a donation to micro finance charities. They are set up specifically to give small interest free loans to low income earners. They also give low interest loans to low income earners. Currently interest free loans are for the purchase of predominately white goods, car repairs etc. A persuasive individual should be able to get them to fund generics. My thinking is -so you will provide a hepper with a new frig, air conditioner, washing machine etc. better still how about $1,500 or so to save their lives etc etc. The hep organisations could have run with the dr and greg, if they weren’t so conservative this pathway to treatment could have been a real fireball by now. About the rest, predjudice is rife, the rest are just unfortunate collateral mishaps. The only people interested in a cure is those involved in someway, the is no collective outrage. I tried a petition via facebook in Nov 14 and I was shocked by the response from “lefties” from all sectors of society. Yep a junkies disease- no sympathy at all. kindly

Mesohem manufacturer is in China. If you can afford to collect the medicine personally. Greg Jefferys has helped with importation into Russia. Contactable – just google hepatitis c homestead. He is very helpful and will do his best for you.

Thanks for trying Dr. They don’t care. Its a bonus if the old timers die cause it reduces budget expenditure on welfare and health. Face up to it, its an IV users virus. Who really gives a shite? The Greens support treatment for all but I don’t hear their voice pitching for treatment NOW.
The only way forward is to get welfare groups actively involved. Persuade micro finance charities to provide interest free loans so cash strapped people can access generics. Let us own and provide “treatment for all” stance. Admittedly at a small price. This would be a very good starting point. I am convinced that positive momentum will follow. kindly

I think that question has to be answered by the doc. Fasting before a fibroscan gives a better reading, so I am told. My advice is, if you can afford it, do it now. With little scarring you will only need 12 week treatment. With so little scarring you might not be eligible when the medicines eventually get PBS listing. kindly

From what I can remember it was going to be closed down cause nobody was using the site. But I think a few from nsw rescued it. It is really quiet. Not much traffic. The most helpful thing they can do for heppers is to close it down. A hep queensland worker was bragging on Australasia forum how wonderful their information fact sheet was, my criticism was tame regarding its obvious shortfall. “go find your own overseas generics ” no mention of the successful rebellion getting authentic generic medicine. I didn’t bother doing the survey cause I knew it would lead people nowhere. kindly

I too have been deleted from the site. I thought they were attached to Hep nsw. She idolizes helen tyrell. She certainly gives us a taste of what imposed censorship would be like. Apart from health, environment and other social justice issues to fight for, I am adding freedom of the press/free speech. Thanks AHCS for helping me experience tyrannical censorship first hand. If you really want to know who is currently behind this forum, Australasian forum moderators will know. I am still pretty sure they are good people. What I find hard is these hep organisation use 3000 hep related deaths in the past year to shock and pressure the government but wont lift a finger to save potential hep c victims from death, not publishing reputable pathways to generics. It is simply so evil. kindly

Thankyou sabrecat, yep lots of drinking and weeing. Will know the results monday week. If positive, my doc mentioned injecting radiation into specific cells, if it is a particular growth. The other type would be a resection. the last fibroscan i had in june 2014 said the liver elasticity was good. i am glad christmas is still a month away cause everything slows down for weeks. I couldn’t bare not having treatment immediately. I do have a sneaky suspicion that I have inherited ‘the dooley curse’-cancer. I am dealing with it as all if’s. knowing that you are doing well after resectioning is very heartening. kindly

Hey guys you should remember that drinkers without Hep c get cirrhosis. Alcohol on its own is damaging to the liver. With Hep C,it is not the virus that destroys the liver, its our own immune system. the real problems is that the liver doesn’t repair quickly enough while our immune system is killing off our liver cells. Death of cells is greater than rejuvenation of cells. why add another substance- alcohol- burdening this rejuvenation process. I don’t have a problem with not drinking. I am bewildered when people say gleefully that I will be able to drink again, as if not drinking is the biggest loss one can have in their lifetime. Give me a break. kindly
