Unfortunately Sabrecat I do have cirrhosis early f4 around 23 fibroscan. I will know in a couple of weeks the outcome of the ct scan due on friday.
What the…. was for those poncy decision makers.
I am not happy with the PBAC either cause they refused to list treatment recommendation in July 2014 trying to play hardball with Gilead. That got them/us nowhere. In April 2015 they recommended it for listing, and there was no change in circumstances with Gilead – price still high. PBAC achieved nothing from 2014. The real problem is nobody with tight connections to the Liberal Party establishment had the hard to treat virus. Unlike Ron Walker did with stage 4 melanoma. This melanoma was listed without trials done in Australia, it was straight from the USA. Half their luck.

I think she has worked in the ACT- board of Arthritis and some health services association. Usually people proudly make available their qualifications and work achievements. Wonder why she doesn’t?

It is so so obvious without knowledge of their financials, that something smelt with old Helen’s stand. This information confirms it.

I am surprised Sabrecat that the Red Cross took this stand. I gave the story to a Journo friend of mine in about ’94 that their blood was contaminated with Hep C. It was breaking news and the media ran with this story for about 3 weeks. The Red Cross knew about contaminated blood in 1990 cause I knew a blood donor who had donated for 20 years was told by the blood bank that he had Hep C, which he got in the early ’70’s. In fact it is documented in the latest history of the blood bank. kindly

Yeah, AHCS support forum supported her delicate and diplomatic handling of the Docs attack. So I went on a rampage for a couple of days until Hep Queensland did they big turn around. Hopefully the other states will follow, and stuff old Helen’s stupid stance.

I contracted Hep C 40 years ago because of silly youthful curiosity – try anything once. I went on monotherapy in 1990’s with no success. In 2007 I went on combination therapy with no success. I became genotype 3 non responder. Very difficult to treat. I have since developed cirrhosis which is longer to treat , 24 weeks requiring 3 drugs. While the government is sitting on its hands I developed liver nodules which are soon to be determined if its cancer, and if cancer, is it a treatable cancer? Buying Indian generics was a no brainer to me. What the fuck would you do? LVT has come back reasonably normal after 3 weeks. I am not in a hurry for VL cause I know its going to take 24 weeks if its to be successful. Besides these nodules are enough to deal with. I have $3,000 worth of a cure. In October 2014 I offered Gilead $30,000 for discounted medicine through my local member Kelvin Thomson. Gilead refused. I have no guilty conscience that I am not adding to Gileads profit margin. People need not have this chronic disease. The only known viral cure is here. Put it on PBS now.

I am having problems exercising. Just no strength doing weights and breathlessness going up hills. My research points to inefficient mitochondrion. Its been reported hep c interferes with it carry oxygen and nutrients to the muscles. Ribavirin does the same thing. So while you have the virus its a double whammy. I just accept not doing too much, for too long or too heavy. kindly

Same old, same old. The government will introduce treatment gradually. They can’t sit back any longer. I think Greg and the Dr have generated the necessary impetus for something to happen soon. Thanks guy’s. kindly

Lucky you emilio. I have mouth and throat ulcers for the past 2 weeks. Apparently a side effect from sofosobuvir. Been drinking coconut water hoping its an electrolyte problem. Apart from that there hasn’t been anything else. kindly
