Hi Michael I probably don’t ‘belong here’ because I’m on Sof/Dac but like you and others have described I have had horrid chronic fatigue for weeks now. The 1st month quite energetic and motivated and then a shocking migraine that lasted days and then days to recover and a week later another and haven’t felt good since (don’t believe it’s related just a timeline thing). I start out dragging myself out of bed – coffee and a walk gets me going but by the arvo I start going downhill fast. I’m a complete couch potato at night. I am sleeping solidly though still wake really tired.

Wishing you all the best :) #flower

Glad to hear your back Paul and having reached EOT recently. Wow, it would have been tough on that cruise doing things in ‘Moderation’ – probably left that platitude at port

Interesting how many people have been gaining weight on Tx I’m losing it, 5 kgs actually. I’m glad because I suddenly started gaining weight over a yr ago and kept on going after sitting at a steady weight for a couple of years prior.

Looking forward to hearing your SVR results Paul, all the best :+1: :)

Actually Kenbadsman, it was Dr James who suggested the blood test to check ‘sugar levels’ to get an idea if I might be diabetic – he’s trying to review my symptoms and look at a few things.

Yes, agree with the ‘in Moderation’ statement; I didn’t get the impression you were living on juice only, Johnboy, which is why I was encouraging and certainly depends on the combo as I said. Whereas Splitdog says he did live on juice only for a time – again some people do this regularly, just a brief time to detox/cleanse or if not well and want to boost their system. I have had times of illness where I only could drink smoothies or fresh juices.

    Hi Ariel,
Originally Dr James prescribed 16 weeks of Sof/Dac because Genotype 3 is a bit tougher to beat and research so far indicated 12w tx-96% ( hope I’m remembering this correctly) success rate; 16w better; then 24w if I wanted 99.9% (I don’t think there’s ever a 100% guarantee?)
It is always that last few% that are the tough persistent mutants, who may appear to be lying low while the war is on but when the DAA Army recedes they can multiply very quickly.

So, if I felt any sides I’m experiencing ok then I give it my BEST SHOT doing the longer course. Since most of my bad symptoms seem related to pre-existing conditions, I don’t really think – but won’t KNOW – how much of what I’m experiencing is a DAA side effect until after EOT.

I’ve decided I want to do the 16 weeks, maybe longer, now it’s on PBS. I want to be rid of it and no return visit like an unwanted house guest

I’m still very fatigued, struggle to get things done and have bad dizzy spells when bending/crouching down.
But the scariest thing is this burning, numbness on the left side of my face, my cheekbone swells right up, my left eye becomes really blurry, hurts to blink, pain all-around eye socket, becomes bloodshot and half-closed by night. I start out ok but as the day progresses so do the symptoms. You get migraines, like me and I get the aura, it’s like the prodrome phase (the days leading up to an attack) and the days after, the pain and tenderness and lurking headache, light sensitivity etc BUT add to that burning tingling pain that starts at temple/cheekbone, and travels down side of face, around left eye and even down the left side of my tongue!! As well as really swollen cheekbone and can’t wear glasses properly, have to sit them sideways

Anyway, I’m glad you are doing well and happy your daughter is safe. Start moving today so I’m off to sign contract etc.

Happy days My Dear Friend #love #love

    Hi Johnboy,
“My sister tells me that because I juice a litre every day……. Carrots apples and celery, that I am doing myself an injustice . I thought I was doing a very good thing. time for a re-think and a better load of fibre from different veggies too.’

So, why does she think you’re doing the wrong thing here? Juicing is very good for you and your liver – obviously depends on combo – but what you’ve listed are great! You’re hydrating, you’re getting fibre (less because you remove the pulp), concentrated vitamins and minerals in an easily digestible form. Fruit/veg contain 2 types of fibre –

Insoluble fiber adds bulk to the stool, helps to keep the bowels regular, fills you up and speeds up the passage of food through the digestive tract. Insoluble fiber include cellulose, hemicellulose and lignins. This is mostly removed from the juice although it is still present in smaller amounts.

Soluble fiber absorbs water like a sponge and provides bulking matter that acts as a prebiotic to support good bacterial growth and digestive health. It also regulates blood sugar control, may lower blood cholesterol and slows the transit of food through the digestive tract and helps fill you up. Soluble fibers include pectins, gums and mucilage. This is still present in the juice.”
    Also Note –
“When you remove the insoluble fiber and are left with the fluid part of the fruits and vegetables, it allows easier assimilation and absorption of the vitamins, minerals and other important phytonutrients across the digestive tract. Insoluble fiber slows down the absorption of many micronutrients, so basically juicing is fast tracking our nutrients.

The body requires very little effort to absorb these nutrients in juice when insoluble fiber is removed. This can be very beneficial in cases where people are convalescing, suffering with an illness, fatigued, stressed, suffering with a digestive disorder or any other condition that may affect their ability to absorb nutrients and digest their food.”

    Here’s a link for this article http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/the-facts-on-fiber-juice/

I say Good For You on Your Juicing – apparently ‘blending’ keeps both forms of fibre – either way it’s all Good! As long as you are balancing your diet with proteins and fats etc.

Good Luck on your journey to Good Health and Healing :) #love #flower

BTW, Kenbadsman thanks for your clarification, I’m waiting on blood tests today; yesterday I nearly passed out several times and did grab 3 ‘fruit jellies’, I improved a little until I could get something else into me, I’ll wait to talk to Dr James.
All the best to you too :) #love #flower

Not long for you to EOT, I’m continuing on to 16 weeks.

    @chejai

Well Johnboy, I certainly hope you get this sorted by your Doc. I’m in week 9 of Sof/Dac and have been very unwell for several weeks, extreme fatigue, weakness, dizziness etc as well as exacerbation of pre-tx symptoms. I’ve just had bloods done Dr James wants to check levels everything including looking at diabetes. One thing I’ve noticed during Tx is a craving for sugar – I don’t normally like sweets, 2 biscuits or 2 chocolates at a time is usually my limit.
I’m experiencing a type of weakness, unsteadiness – wonder if it’s like your ‘shakes’ – i’m going to test what Ken has suggested with having some honey or sweet and see if there’s a change.

Good luck and I hope you do find out what’s happening :) #flower

Wow, LG sounds like you’ve been through a lot recently. I’ve been sick and not on here much so trying to catch up.Feel so relieved for you having the MRI and getting such good results. The stress you were going through felt palpable, I really am happy for you.
Hope you sort the malabsorption/B12 issue out. Don’t forget that the high MCV reading can indicate not just low B12 but low Folate – because they need each other.

You said awhile back you have a ‘Scientific Naturopath’ friend, why don’t you get her to prescribe probiotics/prebiotics – because malabsorption involves the stomach and intestines – and a pre-metabolised form of B12 – because
“But many people with deficiencies have defects in digestion, absorption or metabolism, and they need the pre-metabolised form of B12, which is methyl-cobalamin.” For e.g. there are sub-lingual forms and even nasal sprays. As DT mentioned the Betaine HCL is a good method to help rectify the low hydrochloric acid levels BUT it is something to be taken under supervision and NOT with corticosteroids, anti-inflammatories or NSAID’s.

I take Nexium which unfortunately is to lower stomach acid levels, meaning I’m also probably suffering malabsorption and/or B12 deficiency.
Dr F has run a heap of blood tests so I’ll find out in next few days.

Like you, I have been very unwell for several weeks now, I’m in Week 9. Have discussed with Dr James about continuing on for 16 weeks, or longer if necessary, to be close to that 100% chance of killing off the stubborn mutants.

Thinking of you and wishing you well :) #love #love #flower

Thanks Ariel, I’m sorry I didn’t know you’d posted it. I honestly had no idea, I was only recently on the human services site looking for info re Gov changes/budget etc affecting those of us on benefits and there was nothing about this or my Dr telling me the Gov wants to privatise Medicare and Centrelink and follow the USA example! WTF! If anything the US is an example of how not to run healthcare! Pisses me off that Australia ‘follows’ them!
The Path nurse telling me yesterday to get onto petitioning but didn’t see anything on the site that it was closed – so hope it’s not too late!
Absolutely appalling they want to do this- Sorry but it really calls for
