Yay Mnem!!
Great milestone….onwards to SVRThat’s great news Radtek, We carry this thing for such a long time and it is just wonderful to know that it is gone. Enjoy!
I totally agree Hazel. I know when I first stepped into the world of FixHepC it was the stories of others that helped me make the final decision and supported me along the way. No different really than going on google to look for reviews from real people on all sorts of products.
I’m hoping to get mine to Dr J today. My problem was that once I started writing the whole messy story came out so I’m editing it back to something shorter and to the point. I see it as a way of paying my good luck forward.Coral
Hi Keith,
That’s great. Our doctor does know best.
I was actually born in East Grinstead, Sussex but many years ago. My parents came out to Australia as 10 pound poms.
I’ve been back to your country a few times and really enjoyed it (although it’s interesting times for you all at the moment!).
Good luck with the V-pak. It has certainly worked for me so far and I had some really tough critters.Coral

That’s fantastic Sabrecat (the UND that is…not your lack of luck with Lady Lottery)! Some mates you don’t need anymore.Hi Dixieleeg and Welcome,
Thanks for sharing your story. I can see that you have had a few health challenges. I also had HepC for a long time and remember that letter from the Red Cross very well.
I recently cleared on the new medication (still waiting for the 24 week post treatment milestone) but all kudos to you for clearing the virus under that older and much tougher treatment regime.
Hopefully we can keep sharing our stories and spreading the word.Coral
Thanks for that blast from the past Hazel. Paul Weller and that mod/cool/early hipster? thing he had going on…
Hi Keith,
All good here – just waiting for all of you relapsers to catch up!
Dr Freeman looked after my retreatment as my GP, prescribing the Viekira Pak (used with Solvadi and Ribavirin) through our Australian Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme so a different process than my previous treatments that were through the FixhepC Buyers Club. From reading your posts are you currently on retreatment with Sof/Dac and Ribavirin or have I misunderstood?

Hi 2b,
I’m pleased you talked to Dr Freeman. The extra 4 weeks should make sure that it is gone once and for all.
Hope the side effects have eased now that the dosage has been adjusted. It won’t be long before you are telling us you are
taking your last tablet.I haven’t forgotten about this Dr J. As discussed I didn’t over think it but it’s turned into a memoir! It’s currently having some serious editing.
Good news and I hope they hurry up with the approvals for the Voxilapreviir for Splitdog and others who are waiting for it.
I see they are calling the Sof/Vel/Vox the first approved salvage therapy. There is also glecaprevir/pribrentasvir in the pipeline which they summarise as good for hard to treat patients.
I hope this means there is something for everyone now.
This all sounds so good Jeff. I think I can hear her warming up
So it was. Must be all the fun that may that time fly….
Hi 2b,
Some of us are slower than others but the main thing is that your numbers are heading in the right direction and we get there in the end. You have absolutely the right attitude – if you and your doctor make a decision to continue with the medication for a few more weeks the outcome will be worth it.
Hi Wanod,
That’s a great result at 4 weeks. The meds all seem to have similar side affects. Like you I also had the insomnia and headaches but more energy as the treatment progressed. Also like you I also used to resist medication of any sort but grew to respect those little DAAs!
Looking forward to your next results.
