Prompted by the potential transmission of hepatitis C virus (HCV) in a private dental practice in 2013, this review brings dental healthcare providers (DHCPs) up-to-date with the natural history and epidemiology, new CDC screening guidelines,2,3 new treatment, surveillance, and healthcare-associated HCV transmission and prevention options. The review provides useful references and websites where additional detail is available for those interested in learning more.

Hello beahavan,
There is a consistent theme in the sound therapy stuff – you have to use it every day, for a long period to get results.
I expect it relates to neuroplasticity and you are retraining your brain.
YMMV
I have a friend using “Sound Therapy” and he uses it for prolonged periods every day. For him it’s done a great job. I can’t experiment on myself because I don’t have tinnitus, so that’s getting to the limit of my knowledge. One patient that one system worked for….

Hi Sven,
Thanks for the update. It’s great to hear things are going well.

Hi Lisa Oregon,
With 3 x $4,369.87 being $13,109.61 and taking off the insurance at $2,320 there is $10,789.61 left and taking off the grant there is $3,289.61 left, so you will need that to get hold of the last bottle.
The maths look like
$2,320 + $7,200 = $9,530
After you pay for the first 2 bottles @$4,369.87 you will have spent $8,739.74 leaving $790.26 in the kitty from the combined insurance and grant payment.
It’s really important that the first 8 weeks are immediately followed by another 4 weeks without a break so, my recommendation would be, that, as soon as you start the 2nd bottle (or to be frank right now) you apply for the grant for the missing $3,289.61. The maths say you need it, but worst comes to worst that would leave enough time to get a bottle of our generic Epclusa to you before you get to the end of the 2nd bottle.
We provide patients with the full 12 weeks of generic Epclusa for $1500 so, worst comes to worst, we could always get the last bottle to you for $500 leaving $290.26 left over – just enough to cover the cost of the PCR to prove cure.
I really can’t over-emphasise how important it is to do the full 12 weeks without a break so the sooner you get that approved the sooner we can relax.

Hello LisaOregon,
Welcome.
These new medications tend have very few side effects so with any luck it will be smooth sailing.
There is lots of support here from people who have walked, or are walking in your shoes

Hi sonix,
Nice to hear from you. How are you travelling post Hep C?
Gaj was definitely one of the good guys, and like you say, he did a great job of bringing people together into a community.
Best Wishes.

Hello tototo, that looks as good as it can at this stage.
It will be interesting to see if the itch settles down for you. It’s certainly NOT a liver related itch with numbers like yours….
Fingers crossed for SVR12 and beyond.

My damn barber insists on showing me the back. He does a great job given the absence of hair to work with and the ever increasing bald spot! At the moment I can’t see it from the front. The day I can is the day I go clippers #1 please!

Hi Aaron,
Gallstones are a common cause of Right Upper Quadrant pain and the operation to remove it is a keyhole procedure with very good success rates and a rapid recovery.
Fatty foods tend to bring it on so try to avoid these as much as possible and you should get less attacks. Buscopan can help it settle faster.
If your Liver Function is normal you should be fine vis a vis the Hep C.

That’s awesome to hear Tigerfan. When I look at my old passports I see some really funny photos.
There’s the one where I got rained on before the photo so my hair is stuck to my head in a 1920s waxed down style.
Then there’s the one with my ponytail pulled back and a peace symbol hanging round my neck.
Then there’s the one where I was off to a small war and had a #1 buzz cut.
At least that one prepared me for my current look which is grey and thinning on top. It’s approaching the time to whip out the clippers. Either that or pay a visit to Donald Trump’s stylist.

Hi Austincr,
Is that the new Gilead generic from Asegua Therapeutics? Could you take a few pictures and post them here – I’d love to see what it looks like.
It’s great that the PAN foundation has helped you out with the price. Was the $2300 the full cost or just your out of pocket?

Hello Austincr,
With any luck it will all be smooth sailing from here. Which medication are you taking?
