    Hi Coral

Thanks for the update. I hope that the move is going smoothly. As they say, everything always works out for the best. I found that high stress really made me worse, so I too made lifestyle changes … and I never look back … might walk into a post or something.

I love your comment about taking up another position in the Village :) … on reflection, I think that a lot of us will.

Glad to hear that you too have more energy and clarity.

    Warm Wishes

    Hi Flyingfox66

Before taking any sort of dietary supplement or herb, please watch the recent 4 Corners episode (broadcast on Mon May 2016, and available to be viewed in ABC’s iview until 31 May). It may change your mind … here’s the link:

    Hi Gaj

Glad to hear that I wasn’t the only one fearing early onset old-timers … and that now you’re firing on all cylinders …

It was like the bolt locking my distributor in place was loose, and I was slowly retarding over the years …

I’m not sure why the cartoon (above) didn’t load … it read:

Clairvoyant: “For Merv Schwermble, I access the akashic records [whatever they are]
Merv: “Who was I in a past life?”
Clairvoyant: “You were a Village Idiot”
Clairvoyant: “Well, you’ve made some progress since that lifetime …” :)

    Hi Beaches

    Reborn indeed!

I still have a little bit left … but the majority of the fog has lifted. The fogginess has only really affected me over the last 10 years, and progressively became more noticeable over the last 5 years. Over the last 2 years, it’s been like I’ve been dyslexic at times, forgetful, and frequently lost my train of thought mid-sentence on bad days. I became skilful at hiding it, however, those close to me noticed it.

It was really worrying me. I started to think that I may have early onset old-timers (Alzheimer’s). I’ve always had a fairly sharp mind, and good memory, despite suffering a major head injury in my youth (which took many years to fully recover from). Now, I’m starting to realise that I’ve got nothing to worry about … the fog is almost gone, and I’m thinking a lot more clearly … it’s the new normal …

    Cheers

    Congratulations Rowan … another victory!

Well worth waiting for … the main thing is that we all make it across the finish line, it doesn’t matter how we get there … some sprint, some jog, and others walk …

Encourage your partner to stay positive, to be patient, and remind her that she may merely be running her race at a slower pace …

Swimming 3 times a week will definitely help your body heal itself … and broaden your shoulders ;)

    Best Wishes

    Great photos Ariel

You frame your shots beautifully … you may have missed your calling.

I’m sure that your 8 week post treatment blood test results will not be able to detect HCV RNA.

Be confident, stay positive, have a laugh (at yourself, situations, & others) and above all … keep smiling :)

Here are two shots of our sunrise here in WA yesterday… the first one looking down the freeway in Perth, and the other taken over the canals in Mandurah 70km south of Perth. As the old saying goes (some say sailor instead of shepherd):

Red sky at night is a shepherd’s delight
Red sky in the morning is a shepherd’s warning

    Speaking of Wild

We have had some wild weather here over the last two days with strong winds and 6 metre swells. I’ll have to get some more shots of the big surf for the Vicco pie loving surfing pirate babe … that’ll cheer her up. In the meantime, I hope that she gets a chuckle out of this one …

    PiratePilates.png

Scraggly Beard the pirate didn’t enjoy surfing anymore because he couldn’t hang 10 on his malibu and, being a lefty, his leg rope kept on slipping off. He tried to change is stance, to that of a righty, but he couldn’t stand the likes of Tony Abbot and Donald Trump. So in an effort to keep active, he’s taken up Pirate Pilates.

    Well said Beaches

The Steppenwolf classic should be adopted as a theme song to encourage everyone to get their motors running ….

Six laps completed and 6 to go. No major mechanical problems to report. I’ve been watching my emissions since DCV is blown out through the exhaust pipe … no spluttering or backfiring … nor colour change … so all good. I go for a spin first thing in the morning, add a litre of water along the way, have a quick wash & wax, and then pop my pills. I wait an hour or so, while topping up with more water, before fuelling up. This is my daily routine and I never misfire.

The only minor mechanical problem is a slow water leak. My fuel tank seems to have been sabotaged with sugar and, together with the SOF, has caused a minor water leak. The resulting unplanned pit stops have slowed me up a bit. In an effort to dilute the sugar in my fuel tank, I been increasing the revs of my motor for longer in the mornings. So, lately it’s been head down, bum up, headphones on, and revving along to my favourite tunes.

    GT2Headphones.png

This sports car sincerely thinks that half of the reason why the first 6 laps have been trouble free is due to routine revving of my motor every morning. The release of endorphins afterwards gives you a great positive feeling similar to that obtained by morphine. (See http://www.webmd.com/depression/guide/exercise-depression) It’s nature way of rewarding you for your effort.

If you haven’t revved your engine for a while, it’s best to see your mechanic beforehand to make sure your motor is up for it. However, in the interim you can simply start by taking a drive around the block every day. One thing is for sure, you’ll feel much better than if you had stayed parked in the garage. Go on, do yourself a favour!
